Ovulation ?

Hi guys,
I'm really confused and wondering if anyone can help.
Hubby and I are TTC but my ovulation (Clearblue sticks) is really close to my period. My period came just 1 week after ovulation.

Does this affect my chances of conception? Is this enough time for the process to happen or has my period already decided it's on its way by that time?

Might be worth mentioning that I came off the pill in May after 15 years. My last two cycles have been 24 days.

Sorry if I am being a bit dim!

Thanks in advance 😊

Hi @AmyTTC , don't be sorry, it seems it can take a little while (6 months to a year in some cases) for many of our cycles to return to 'normal' after coming off the pill.

I am on my 2nd cycle of the pill and my cycles seem quite long (30+ days). It does sounds like you are having quite short cycles and a 7 day Luteal phase is quite short (from what I have read you want 10 days+ to give your egg sufficient time to implant).

Are you taking any pre-pregnancy vitamins?

Hi @Kay00 thanks for your reply.
Yes I am taking the Seven Seas trying for a baby folic acid which I have been taking since I came off the pill.

I did think it was shortSad. Hopefully this month will be better

You could consider switching to Pregnacare tablets which have extra B6 and B12 in them which often makes cycles longer (they warn about this on the packaging). I think a lot of women don't like that feature but it might be just what you need. Smile

Oh really?! I didn't know that. You're right that sounds just what I need! Thanks for the tip! I'll get myself some of these!
