Stories after 2 early miscarriages - I really need to read other people’s stories 😭😭😭

I had a miscarriage at 5 weeks in May and I am currently going through my 2nd miscarriage at 4 weeks + 5 days and can’t help but think what is wrong with me?? 😭😭😭

I dealt with the first one because I thought it can be quite normal to have 1 but now I’ve had 2 it’s got me worrying that something is wrong with me and I’m never gonna get my rainbow baby 💔💔

Please tell me your stories, successful of not. I need to just relate to people who have been through the same thing. It’s killing me 😔

@Sophi123 I have no idea!!! I didn’t track anything this cycle. I felt like I just wanted to take a step back because of what happened at the start of the month. I took a test because I thought my period should have been due Friday/Saturday judging by my last miscarriage and was shocked to see this

@Nannon145 I feel your pain!

Sorry to jump in, but to those who've had early miscarriages but then had a successful pregnancy, did you get help from a GP to take anything or was it just better luck with that pregnancy? I'm hoping if I get my third BFP, it will stick after having 2 chemicals, but not sure if I'm wasting my time trying without help (e.g. aspirin or progesterone...)

Hi @Nannon145

I've just had a positive pregnancy test this morning! Similar situation to you- 2 early miscarriages this year so finding it hard to feel optimistic. I've started low dose aspirin since CD21 and will probably keep that going for the first trimester if I get that far! I'd love to hear how you get on as we're in a v similar situation!

@Semele5069 omg yes keep me updated! I can’t get excited either, I’m too nervous. Took another FRER this morning though and there was obvious progression so fingers crossed

I had two early miscarriages last year at 6 and 7 weeks. Now 30 weeks pregnant and no issues at this stage.

After my second miscarriage I found out I have a MTHFR gene mutation (look it up if you want more info) and started taking supplements to help with that as well as taking low dose aspirin and as soon as I got a positive test this time my specialist put me on progesterone pessaries until 14 weeks.

I think for sure the aspirin and progesterone made a difference for me.

Hope all goes well for you and you have a successful pregnancy soon Flowers

Oops sorry just saw your update that you are now pregnant.

Hope everything goes well and maybe talk to your GP (or another GP or specialist) about low dose aspirin and progesterone

@Semele5069 ohh great news you've got another BFP, wishing you all the best! did you decide to take aspirin on your own or speak to a doctor first?

@2020mission thank you! I did my own research on the aspirin really. I asked my GP about it after the 2nd miscarriage and she said she couldn't really advise and that would be something the fertility/recurrent miscarriage clinics would discuss if it came to that.

I wasn't sure when to take it as some people only start when they get pregnant but other things i read said it can help build up a good uterine lining every month so to take it when TTC.

This month I actually had CD21 bloods taken so didn't want to start it until after that in case it affected the result or masked an issue that was there so started after that appointment. I've recently started acupuncture as well with a lady who specialises in fertility work and she asked me if I'd looked into it. She obviously can't give medical advice but said most of the women she sees who have are going to fertility clinics and having IVF have been put on it by their doctors. I couldn't find any convincing evidence that it would be harmful at such a low dose so thought it was worth a try!

I had 2 and then a daughter. Then another 2, before my 2nd child. It was heart breaking, but a happy ending for me.

I’m so sorry for your losses x

I had 3 early miscarriages. I was referred to rmc at Leeds, diagnosed with APS and advised to take aspirin every day (forever) to make my blood less sticky. Was pregnant again 3 weeks later, given enexoparin injections to take once a day. I’m 36 weeks tomorrow and having a c section next week. Never thought I’d get here. Have hope xx

Hi @Nannon145 I'm ok thanks! I've felt very crampy since my positive test and got a bit lightheaded and nauseous yesterday morning.

I'm not sure when to mark the weeks as last month I started spotting on the Saturday but only woke up with full AF flow on the Monday so my apps are saying different cycle dates. I might split the difference and call it 5 weeks tomorrow (Sunday)!

I was fairly relaxed till yesterday then the thought of having to manage the uncertainty of the next couple of months felt overwhelming! I was worried that I wasn't feeling crampy anymore then when it started again I was worried that was bad too! Think I might just have to distract myself for a while.

How're you?xx

Completely know where you’re coming from.

I’m feeling ok. I keep occasionally getting waves of nausea but nothing spectacular. My boobs were hurting but seems to have eased now which has worried me. The main thing I’ve noticed is I’m always sooooooo thirsty.

But been taking pregnancy tests and they are getting darker and darker so that reassures me.

I’m booked in for a scan next Thursday where I think I’ll be 6+2 because I’m going on holiday with my family on the Friday and want to be able to hear baby’s heartbeat before I tell them because I won’t be able to keep it from them because of alcohol!

@Nannon145 that's a good idea about the scan! I'm considering booking one for around 7 weeks. I don't have any pregnancy tests left so might order a few cheap ones off Amazon as I'd like to have them.

Nannon145 · 06/09/2020 11:07

@Semele5069 yeah I probably would wait till 7 weeks if I weren’t going away because you know the heartbeat will definitely be found. I’m really worried I’ll go and it’ll be too early and then that’ll worry me even more x

Hi,

Congratulations on your BFP. Just wanted to let you know I had an almost identical situation to you when trying for my second. Miscarried at 6 weeks. Got pregnant again straight away then miscarried at 5 weeks. Tried again and got pregnant 2nd cycle and now have a 7 year old to show for that effort :) I cried my eyes out at my 12 week scan when I saw her heartbeat, never felt relief like it.

Sorry for your loses and hope your pregnancy goes smoothly. A dear friend of mine had 4 early miscarriages, all before 8 weeks. Once they investigated they gave her a medication (cannot remember the name) she had to take daily in early pregnancy. She has since gone on to have two children and no further miscarriages.

I’m really panicking today that my CM is a slight pink colour. I have to really stare at it to see it, don’t know if I’m just sending myself crazy 😫 this is meant to be a time of excitement and I’m here dreading every day in case I start bleeding

Sorry for your losses.

I had 3 early miscarriages, it’s heart breaking and i genuinely thought I wouldn’t be able to have children.

On the 3rd miscarriage I was heart broken and they said they would start tests but I just gave up hope!

Low and behold pregnant and now have a lovely 11 year old.

I also had a 2nd child conceived in 6 months of trying with no miscarriages.

I think they stress of trying can sometimes hinder the result of getting pregnant, just a theory.

Hi @Nannon145 How're things now? Try not to worry, I know it's easier said than done though! Even if there is a little bit of blood that's very normal and there are so many stories on here of women who've bled loads and things have still been ok.xx

@Semele5069 hey, nothing since. Just little the lightest pink colour when I wiped. I had to really look to notice it. No blood at all. Just made me feel so sick when I saw it. Don’t think I can go through all that again
