PG right after MC, same month

Had a D&C in mid-September... despite doctor's orders, aren't waiting for 1-2-3 normal cycles. Have some symptoms that might be indications of another pg.

Tested last week (was too early for a new pg to be picked up on a test, just wanted to make sure that hormones from MC were out of my body. Unfortunately got BFP - meaning hormones were still in me).

Are there anybody out there who got pg the first month after mc, before AF ever got a chance to show up?

Thank you

when I had a D&C my first period was not until about 6wks later.

I would and could not have tried straight away both for physical and emotional reasons

but best of luck with whatever you do/ happens

manuka · 01/10/2007 20:27

I did and miscarried again but that doesn't mean that will happen to you.I was in a very stressfull environment at the time so I'm sure that added to it. I now have a 15month old so all well in the end!

windyweather · 01/10/2007 20:32

kate

i did, as it takes me ages to get pregnant so tried straight away. pregnant very next month.

my beautiul boy is 2 soon.
Good luck and go with your instincts

katendmom · 01/10/2007 20:33

Thank you both . A couple of my fellow MNers (who have gone through MC at the same time) and I are trying to figure out the probability of it for us and knowing experiences of others helps very much. Getting pg right after sounds very unrealistic but I guess the nature could (and at times does) work in strange ways...

Had m/c in August and took 7 weeks for first cycle after. I was desperate to be pg and convinced myself I was, particularly as most symptons present.

With hindsight, not sure how I would have coped emotionally if it been positive.

Good luck either way

katendmom · 01/10/2007 20:36

Oh windy that's SO great to know! . Thank you for sharing your experience. Congratulations on your beautiful DS (my little one will be 2 in Feb )

I had an early m/c and got a bfp 28 days later. Am 22 weeks preg now. Congratulations!!

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 01/10/2007 20:40

I think I can say yes. M/c at 6wks in August, no AF and last week I had a BFP. There is the possibility that it's still residual hCG from the m/c but I am exhausted and have felt nauseous since the weekend. Spoke to GP and I'm booked for a confirmation scan at the end of the week. So I'll soon know one way or the other.

katendmom · 01/10/2007 20:40

KD sorry, posts crossed. I hear what you're saying (wks for me until "7 wks later" yet... so am thinking these symptoms are a nasty leftover from my mc'ed pg...)

Best of Luck to you too!

I did - and mc again, but that mc was NOT related to having got pg so quickly. A couple of doctors did make comments to that effect, but as it's pretty obvious that a recent mc cannot cause a blighted ovum (which was what that later mc was), I think they just wanted to have a cause rather than have to admit it was random, crap bad luck.

If you still had residual hCG last week, I'm sorry to say you are unlikely to be pg again now. You might, though, be experiencing ovulation.

Wishing you luck. (On the fourth cycle after that mc I got pg again, not entirely expectedly (we weren't really trying), and had my little boy the weekend before last. There is always hope! )

katendmom · 01/10/2007 20:46

had my m/c 3 weeks ago today and have immediatly started ttc again

just wait, we will be announcing our bfps on the same day

07mumstheword · 04/10/2007 21:42

Hi, I had MC Jul and although had BFP x 3 Last wk, started to bleed this monday .

However I am now working out when I should next ovulate already Thank Goodness I'm not the only one

I heard somewhere that you can be very fertile after MC, don't know if there is any truth in it but no harm in trying

ClairePO · 04/10/2007 21:50

Same situation for me, m/c confirmed 12 Sept, started ttc when bleeding stopped. HPT negative at end of last week and OPK showed surge last Thursday (I think, never used them before so I could just be very confused). Waiting either for a BFP or AF.

Jossiejump · 04/10/2007 21:57

I conceived in the next cycle after early m/c am currently 33 weeks pg

07mumstheword · 05/10/2007 08:32

Good luck ClairePO hope you get a BFP!

josiejump Congratulations! Another inspirational story

Bollymiscuit · 05/10/2007 14:28

Hi Katendmom, I am sorry to hear about your MC, I also had a MC this Aug. I have not yet had AF since the ERPC following the MC and, like you, I felt preg and had a +ve preg test. However, the doctor did say it was normal to have feelings like this after a MC as the body is slightl confused due to hormones. I found this useful www.pregnancyloss.info/waitingforaf.htm
Fingers crossed that your are preg again - good luck

ClairePO · 05/10/2007 21:03

Thats a very helpful and informative link, thanks Bollymiscuit.

MrsBond · 05/10/2007 21:31

hello Katendmom - just to add my experience;

I got a BFP 4 weeks after early m/c (7wks)

Was confused as to HGC levels etc... we'd only had sex once about 2 weeks after m/c (sorry TMI) but it turned out I was pg!

Gorgeous baby boy now 18 months!

TheDuchessOfCorpseBride · 05/10/2007 21:47

I had my confirmation scan today. And I am pregnant again following my August m/c. Fingers crossed this one sticks.

Good luck to Kate, Claire & liketosleep.

katendmom · 05/10/2007 22:37

Bollymiscuit thank you so much for the link. What an informative site! Lots of good information and in really layman terms. I agree with so much of what they?re saying about trying to hold off TTC right away? but it?s so hard. I did take another pg test and it was negative. Still no AF (probably too soon for me ? D&C was on Sept. 13) but at least my hormones have gone down. Hope you?re coping and doing ok yourself.

MrsBond what an awesome story! You KNOW how much I want it to be my story too . Enjoy your bundle of sunshine. My boy is 19 months (will be turning 20 in a couple days) and he is so much fun!!!

TheDuchessOfCorpseBride HOW GREAT! CONGRATULATIONS I am blowing tons and tons of pink and blue baby pixie dust your way across the cyber space ** or and a huge bucket of a baby glue to make sure that this one sticks! How far along are you? Keep me posted on your pg, ok?
