Conception - LH surge

Hiya!

I hope you’re all well. I’m new to this so I apologise if this has been previously spoken about.

My partner and I are on our second month of “trying” for a baby. I haven’t been on the pill for 2 years now as several just didn’t agree with me. We’ve never been “careful” as if it happened, it happened and we were fine with that. This worries me for a start - I understand there’s this very small window we can actually conceive but as I’m sure a lot of other females, it’s a worry of mine and I’m not getting any younger if we need a little help!

So, we’ve done the deed every day since Monday - except last night as I stayed out, my periods aren’t like clockwork but give or take a few days out. I always get my LH surge earlier than my app predicts, as well as cervical mucus so I go more by my body/LH surge than my app. I had a positive LH surge yesterday AM and it was a big fat Negative come PM which I understand can happen.

Finally, my question is, could we still have potentially conceived just because we didn’t do the deed on one of the most important evenings (after LH surge, with ovulation approaching)? I also understand sperm can stay in the Fallopian tube for upto 5 days but now I’m kicking myself that a week of sex and we wasn’t able to do it last night!

Thank you! xx

Dont beat yourself up, it can still be possible that you concieved, and it will only make you feel bad to think about what you should have done. Everything eill happen in its time❤ and theres still hope for this month

Lots of people don’t do it on the day of! It’s an imprecise science. A common technique is 1+ and 1-, so that you’re hitting it all around the expected date.

Most fertile days are O to O-3 but you're in with a good chance by just hitting one of those dates. So don't worry!

Do you use Ovulation Predictor tests?

@Neon7

Do you use Ovulation Predictor tests?
I do. They say the line has to be as dark or darker than the control window which is quite tricky sometimes!
