As soon as AF disappears, which will be soon 🤞 me & my partner will be ttc :)
I've been keeping an eye on my cycles for a little while using the flo app & have been taking pregnacare.
Is there anything else we should know or do to help prepare ourselves? :)
Exited to go on this roller coaster of a journey & as no one knows of our plans would be lovely to hear off people ttc too :) xx

@Lotty88 omg did you manage to test?! Hope AF hasn’t come yet or at all!!

@Amy259 so sorry only just seen this it’s been a hectic few days!! Welcome to my world haha at least I’m not the only one paying online psychics I’ve never heard of. You kinda got a bargain there!! I paid £15 and was told April?!. Kinda hope it’s not true and it happens earlier but also gave me a bit of faith as all I could think is well they didn’t say I’m infertile which lifted my spirits massively. What if he can actually sense it though and it does happen around that time??. I’m glad you’ve put it on here because if he’s right he’ll get a LOT more custom!! How do you feel after hearing back from him??

Lotty88 · 19/12/2020 21:07

@meganlea hey Megan. Yeah I tested this morning...and it’s positive. I can’t believe it. It’s been 2 years! I’ve done three tests and definitely a BFP. I so hope it happens for all you guys soon, I didn’t think it would happen for me so don’t give up hope! I only joined this group a few days ago but found it so helpful to know others were in the same position as me. Now to worry about the fact I am! Such early days but trying to keep positive and not worry xx

meganlea · 19/12/2020 21:23

@Lotty88 wow, amazing news!! ✨ Merry Christmas to you and yours!!! The perfect gift from you to you lol. Congratulations 🎉.....and yep I can imagine the worrying just increases big time when you get that BFP, lots more new worries haha! Xx

Lotty88 · 19/12/2020 21:57

Thank you so much. It hasn’t sunk in at the moment. Merry Christmas to you too! Hope 2021 is your year xxx

Amy259 · 19/12/2020 21:58

@Lotty88 oh my god how did I miss that?! Congratulations!!

@DNpink82 @justwanttobemum tried to link the Etsy shop but it won’t let me so go on Etsy and search psychicderrek, that’s him.

@meganlea for now it’s completely changed my mindset. June marks 1 year for us so it’s when we’d qualify for help. So on one hand someone has seen me have a healthy conception by then makes me stress less now. But on the other hand even if it’s bollocks it’s made me remember that I can’t actually do much about it until June anyway so why stress so much?! Just enjoy trying!

Lotty88 · 19/12/2020 22:08

@Amy259 thank you Smile xx

beckyBP · 20/12/2020 00:41

@meganlea great news about your husband. Glad you're back in the game

Welcome @Rice1992 husbands/partners just DONT get the obsessiveness.. slightly jealous of them 😂

@Amy259 I think we've all lost the plot tbf. You defo aren't alone.
Amazing that it's changed your mindset! Good on you girl.

@Lotty88 HUGE congrats on your BFP!! WOOP woop!!

Hope everyone else is ok?! Also.. tier 4 over here 🙋🏼‍♀️ yaay 😑

meganlea · 20/12/2020 04:42

@Amy259 that’s so true no point stressing this early on!

@beckyBP sorry to hear you’re in tier 4, how awful!

Anyone else getting a bit of pandemic anxiety again? I had it quite bad I March when it first started and I ended up not having a period for 69 days. I’ve woke up at 4am naturally to temp and I’m finding it hard to relax my breathing and control my shaking. I think it’s because I’m seeing family at Christmas and it’s getting closer and it’s making me super anxious but I don’t want to cancel Christmas because DH would be absolutely devastated. I just can’t stop feeling sick about it! 😫 any tips to take my mind off it?

DNpink82 · 20/12/2020 09:41

@Amy259 I've just ordered my Psychic Derrek 🙈 I'll let you know what he says 🤣

Amyc94 · 20/12/2020 09:51

@beckyBP yep we are tier 4 too 😑😑 sucks doesn't it!

Rice1992 · 20/12/2020 10:33

@beckyBP yeah I’m pretty jealous of them too tbh 😅 The way I look at it though is that we’re educating ourselves, so if anything, we’re bettering our knowledge to help us and friends (like my best friend doesn’t know anything about TTC, so I’m filling her in on a lot!). That’s the way I try and rationalise the googling anyway 🤣

Sorry to hear you’re in tier 4 that’s so rubbish 🙁 I don’t envy the government but I think they really messed up the Christmas stuff by getting peoples hopes up too early. But anyway that’s enough about politics, back to TTC 😂 I’ve decided to test Tuesday not Wednesday, as I’ll be about 12DPO then and the wait is torturing me! Really hoping something would show up if it was a BFP then 🤔

@Lotty88 congratulations on your BFP that’s such lovely news! ☺️ Xx

Amy259 · 20/12/2020 10:36

@meganlea yeah I’m starting to get a bit worried again. We’re in Scotland so for now it’s business as usual - we have tiers 0-4 here and I live in a 2, so we’re allowed to travel to areas the same or lower than us but haven’t been able to go into other houses for about 8 weeks now... but we can meet in cafes/restaurants. Then on Boxing Day the whole country is going to level 4 lockdown for minimum 3 weeks... and our schools aren’t going back until at least 18th Jan, so at lease we’ll hopefully see if that makes a difference.
We’re allowed to mix on Christmas Day so we’re still spending it with my parents but I am pretty worried about it. It’s all just such a scary and uncertain time 😔

@DNpink82 keep me posted 😂

beckyBP · 20/12/2020 10:40

@meganlea tbh.. I feel like nothing shocks me anymore in 2020.

So sorry to hear you're struggling with it! I think just keep reminding yourself this isn't forever. It might not be the year we've planned but man it's going to be another level of awesome when it's over 🤍

I'm weirdly calm about it all this time.. I think when March came along it ruined our June wedding and for me personally that was the hardest thing.

@DNpink82 let us know how it goes! I'm intrigued

@Amyc94 it does. I'm wales so we still get some form of Christmas here. Where are you?

@Rice1992 you're spot on. I've learnt so much in the time I've been trying and I think my fiancé has taken in about 5% of that 😂

Yeah I don't envy the gov either.. whatever they do people don't like it so they can't win 😂 you're right though.. getting our hopes up for Christmas shouldn't have happened.

What's your guys opinion on the vaccine? It says you shouldn't have it if you're pregnant or planning to be in the next 3 months.

DNpink82 · 20/12/2020 10:44

@Amy259 @beckyBP I keep checking my emails 🤣🤣

Christmas is cancelled in our house, we're both nurses and working Christmas Day so was planning on doing Christmas dinner on Boxing Day but not allowed now 🙄

DNpink82 · 20/12/2020 10:46

@beckyBP I won't be having the vaccine just yet, it's been recommended if your pregnant or ttc not to have it as it hasn't been tested enough during pregnancy so I'll wait until they 100% know it's safe

Rice1992 · 20/12/2020 10:52

@beckyBP haha yeah mine too - although I’m trying not to tell him too much because if I do get a BFP I want to surprise him (and also because he stops taking stuff in if I talk about symptoms etc for too long 🙈).

The vaccine is a tricky one. My grandparents had their first shot of it yesterday which is great and 100% needed for their generation atm. I’m hoping by the time it would even come around to us that I’d be pregnant and therefore wouldn’t have it until at least a few months after birth. I wouldn’t want it whilst pregnant tbh, or whilst trying. But that’s not to say you could catch corona whilst trying/pregnant and they don’t really know the long term affects that can have either so 🤷🏼‍♀️ I guess the difference is pregnant people have had corona and things seem to be ok atm, whereas the same can’t be said for the vaccine. But then no vaccines are really tested on pregnant people anyway. I do want to have it because we’re never going to get out of this sh*t show otherwise, but I think I’ll see where I’m at (I.e pregnant or not) when it comes to having it and get the advice of my doctor. Sorry that was so long 😅

DNpink82 · 20/12/2020 18:27

@beckyBP @Amy259 So apparently I'll be pregnant by July/August and will have a new job by March/April

Our first month ttc our first
Lotty88 · 20/12/2020 18:56

@Rice1992 @beckyBP thank you both so much xx

Amy259 · 20/12/2020 19:10

@DNpink82 how did it make you feel??

DNpink82 · 20/12/2020 19:43

@Amy259 a bit gutted tbh, I don't want to wait another 6/7 months as it'll mean I'll be nearly 40 when it's born but I suppose it's also given me a little bit of hope too. Only time will tell now I suppose 🤷‍♀️

Amy259 · 20/12/2020 20:25

@DNpink82 yeah I felt similar when he said June/July but then tried to hold onto the thought that if I’m choosing to believe that enough to feel sad about it, I also have to choose to believe he saw a happy, healthy baby after a full term pregnancy and there’s an end to the waiting. Try not to just choose to believe the bad side!

Or resign yourself to the fact that it’s possibly all a load of rubbish!!

meganlea · 21/12/2020 09:22

@Amy259 Aww bless. Yeah it's still scary, even though we're allowed to see family on Christmas day there's still a little voice in my head saying WHAT IF!!

@beckyBP aw thank you, I was fine after like 20 minutes of posting my last message and I'm always fine through the day but sometimes on a night I'm just like OMG what is actually going on! I keep telling myself I need to turn off the news, especially with a no deal brexit looking likely too it's all just worry worry worry but I can't not have a look to see what's going on haha, my toxic trait!! Sorry that it ruined your wedding. Hopefully by June 2021 this will all be a distant memory for us all :)

Well, CD17 today, I am yet to LH test for today but so far no LH surge. My temp dropped yesterday morning to the lowest so far of this cycle 36.20 and then went up today 36.42 which is a big jump for me. (temp has varied 36.20 - 36.59 so far this cycle). Not last night but the night before I had really weird sex dreams, so I'm wondering if I missed my LH surge as it was 0.39 at 1.30pm yesterday and re tested at 5.45pm and it had gone down to 0.2 tested again later, 0.2, which is really low for me I'm usually between 0.28-0.4 ....I suppose I'll know in the next couple of days if my temp rises.

Getting a bit fed up of testing 3 times a day, done it for 11 days straight and keep hinting to DH I could be in my fertile week and not even know and he just thinks DTD once every 7 days is enough as he's read sperm can live up to 7 days inside of you. I think I'll stop LH testing next cycle and just stick to temping and tell DH if he wants a baby he's got up his game and DTD every other day otherwise we'll be waiting years.

Sorry I'm not really posting anything positive lately just a bit fed up at the moment! Going to make gingerbread men tonight hopefully that'll bring my Christmas spirit back.

Amy259 · 21/12/2020 09:40

@meganlea aww do I FEEL. YOU. on the DH stuff. We’ve had a couple of chats about it before because I swear sometimes he thinks you can forget about it Mon-Fri, have sex at the weekend and boom, pregnant. I totally understand that it’s weird and different when it’s timed/planned and that he really doesn’t like that (in all honesty it wouldn’t bother me to have “right we need to have sex now” sex at ov but the rest of the time it be normal and fun, but i guess it’s not me that has to perform) but the solution I offered of just having sex every 2-3 days so that it’s covered without the pressure of having to time it never ever happens. When we talk about it he’s always so understanding and gets really down when af arrives, but previously he’s always slipped back into old ways. He’s been much better this month so 🤞🏻
We also met friends and their baby for lunch at the weekend and he wouldn’t stop talking about having one all the way home so hopefully his broodiness is in full flow 😂

Surely you won’t have missed it testing 3 times?? Except last cycle, what day do you usually surge?

I had a big temp drop this morning, back down from 36.64ish to 36.22 so I’m expecting af today after this weird cycle. Today is cd29 and I’m about 14dpo. So weird.

meganlea · 21/12/2020 10:34

@Amy259 it is so frustrating isn't it? I feel like us women go to all this effort of taking vitamins, tracking our CM, temperatures, hormone levels, being more active etc etc and they have one job, to perform. I can't stress how fertile I am in the week leading up but he just thinks his sperm are super strong obviously and that he doesn't need to make much of an effort. And when I do talk to him he understands and goes for it for like a week and then grows complacent and it just makes me feel like I'm doing everything I am for nothing sometimes!! And I'm not going to beg him to DTD with me either, I'll let him know that I might be ovulating soon and then the ball is in his court but there's just no urgency sometimes. I'm going to have another talk with him tonight because if I really did O yesterday (unlikely, but not impossible) then we've missed yet another month and I'll feel like giving up because that'll mean out of 3 cycles, we've only managed to 'cover' 1 of them.

Before my last cycle, clear blue said I ovulated on CD24-25 and that was my first cycle TTC so I don't have data further back than that. I guess it's probably gone back to being 5 weeks! Which if so, is good, because it means I haven't missed O day, but also means I've got another week to wait yet......god this is hard work! The people that I've told we're trying too like close family and friends are like, you don't need to use the tests, just DTD everyday!!! Have lots of fun!!! You don't know my DH, before TTC, DTD once every 2 weeks was enough for him!

Oh yeah, sounds like AF could be on the way for you today then! Hopefully you've both got time off over Christmas though to get back at it.

Amy259 · 21/12/2020 10:43

@meganlea I honestly feel like I could’ve written your whole post there. We have the chat and the change last a week too (just always plan the chat at the beinging of fw 😂) and before ttc he was the exact same - a fairly low sex drive. I don’t know if it’s actually his sex drive or his energy levels... he puts everything else first and ends up too gubbed to want to. I’ve even questioned at times he really wants this but he’s so so eager to be a dad, it’s a bit confusing! I think it’s pressure more than complacency for him though, for sure.

We’ve been “lucky” every month that my fw has fallen on dates like our wedding, honeymoon, weekend away etc. And if I have another short cycle next month it’ll be around NYE. I say lucky, but the flip side of that is that we probably have covered every month for 5 cycles now with 4 bfns, one chemical, and no happy ending to show for our efforts! Maybe timing is the only thing stopping your bfp and once you talk to him and actually get him round to the idea he needs to DTD at the right time, you won’t have many more cycles to wait 🤞🏻
