Hi all

Just wanted a second opinion really. I have dinner with the in laws later. As dinner is booked late we are going for a drink in a pub beforehand.

Tomorrow, there is an all day bbq at a friends.

What is your theory - drink til it's pink or act with caution?! This is my 3rd month ttc. I will be 5-7 dpo (not sure due to diffent apps and i dont use opks).

I was going to drive and not drink tomorrow, as its all day thing. Tonight though, would you have a couple glasses of wine?

I saw the in laws a few days ago and got a bit happy chatting about future children and childcare (!) so i dont want them to suspect im pregnant, when im actually not! You also never know how long you will be ttc in the end.

All (nice) thoughts welcome... Please, no judgment that i fancy a glass of wine on a friday night!

Having spent 15 years trying for Dd who then came along after being told we wouldn't have children, I would say drink unless you are pregnant.

I wouldn't be getting caught up with ttc and lifestyle changes three months in. Just try and enjoy it because believe me, if it does take time it gets harder and harder.

Good luck.

A few glasses won't hurt, lots of people don't find out until 4/5 weeks so you'll be fine... have a good night xx

Drink til it's pink, definitely. At 5-7dpo you won't realistically have had implantation even and if you did the foetus uses the yolk sac for nutrients until week 8 I think so you will be fine regardless :)

Thank you all.

And congrats @icedaisy, what a difficult journey.

A lot of the conception threads say no way would I drink within the TWW so having some perspective is appreciated so I know I'm not thinking irresponsibly!

As you say you don't know how long the TTC journey is going to take and so I'm trying not to get stressed/obsessed as it won't help... but I'm not sure I'm very good at it. Living 'normally' and being able to have a normal Friday night out is what I need without constantly thinking 'what if I'm pregnant'... as, if AF arrives, it will be disheartening. And as you say I'm only 3 months in.
