I've just come to the realisation I am very likely never to have another child and I'm sad. Did the SMEP this month and AF has just come, got pregnant last year but lost it.

Don't know why I'm posting really just feeling sad but very grateful for the child I do have

I am 42 and trying but am coming to the same conclusion as you are. I have set myself an end date and will have to try to come to terms with not having another child. It is hard though. I don't feel old and I don't feel that having another baby would be too difficult but the reality is that my body is close to being too old and that is a pretty depressing thing to have to accept.

Thabjs@kirinm

Having a cut off date is a good idea. I think I will try until the end of the year and then move on

It is very hard though I feel young enough to have another baby but my eggs must be crap

Hi, I had dc3 at 43. I did have a MMC age 40, but had a fairly uneventful pregnancy with him, apart from a couple of bleeds towards the end.

Not necessarily crap but just a bit older than ideal! I feel young enough too - I have a nearly 2 year old DD so it isn't like pregnancy is suddenly going to make life much harder than it already is. But I just don't know if my eggs are up to much these days.

I had a 2nd baby at 43. Had regular periods though and wasn't actively trying as had my 1st baby a whole 10 years before at 33.
It is possible, not sure how common though

Feralkidsatthecampsite · 30/07/2020 20:22

I conceived very easily at 42. 7 but had 3 chemicals and a mmc at 8 weeks at 45 and gave up.

Ime you have a small window op..

toolatenow1 · 31/07/2020 19:19

I hope there is a small window still but the hope is very hard. I feel that I need to try and move on at some point

I had a baby at 44.5. Naturally. It's harder but not impossible. No guarantees but I wanted to give you a bit of hope.

toolatenow1 · 01/08/2020 09:19

@PetraRabbit that gives me hope thank you
