hey everyone. I'm new on here.

I did a pregnancy test this afternoon which looked like a very faint positive. I took it over to my sisters who also saw a faint pink line. I'm unsure if it is positive or an evaporation line. Could anyone help? Xx

If it came up within the time frame it is unlikely to be an evaporation line but it would be worth trying again in a day or two when hopefully you will have clearer results. Did you use FMU?

Oops just saw that you did it in the afternoon so unlikely.
Maybe try another test in the morning with your first morning urine, that should give you a good result. Good luck 😁

Thank you. I tried to add a photo. But its not giving me any option to do so
It came up within the time frame yes. Thank you for the advice. I'll try again tomorrow morning and see what happens xxx

If you are new you can't add a photo for 48hrs I think. Good luck for the morning, it sounds like there is a very good chance it will be positive :)

I took about another test today. It was a blue dye clear blue. Youre supposed to get 2 vertical lines for positive. But instead I got one vertical and one horizontal. So I think its possible the first test could have been an evaporation line and they're negative xx

Hey @ceecee7 where are you in your cycle? Its possible that a blue dye test might not pick it up yet, they are less sensitive I think.

Or it is possible it could have been an evaporation, although they are pretty rare and usually only happen when the test is left longer than the time frame or opened.

I really don't know where I am in my cycle.
I have PCOS. So sometimes miss periods. The reason I took a test is because I've been completely off all food. Nauseas. Sleepy, and tender breast. And ive just felt like something isn't right with my body ( we have another child who passed away last year at 3 and a half years old) and i have all the same symptoms now that I had with our little one in 2015. I heard before that blue dyes can sometimes be less sensitive to picking up early pregnancy hormones. So i may buy another test tomorrow and see how I get on. Thank you so much for the advice xxx
