Could I be pregnant

I gave birth to our first baby 3 months ago.
About 2 and a bit weeks ago we had unprotected sex on day 8 of my cycle roughly 6 to 7 days before my normal day of ovulation, I'm now on day 22 yesterday on day 21 I experienced quite a lot of period type pains no spotting just pains mainly in the evening on my right side but did experience some earlier in the day also on my right side, quite strong but not sharp. R3eally felt like period pains but I'm not due on for another 8 days and they have now gone, could I be pregnant or does the date we had unprotected sex not add up with it being 6 to 7 days before ovulation, people have been telling me your highly fertile after having a baby, is this true?

You had unprotected sex so yes there's a chance you could be pregnant.

I don't think cycles get completely back to normal so soon after birth so you might be wrongly assuming ovulation date.

We got caught out with contraception failure 6 weeks after I'd given birth. The midwife who discharged me from the maternity ward stressed about sorting out contraception as you can be fertile again straight away (breastfeeding isn't adequate contraception as some people believe). I didn't want to take any chances so got emergency contraception.

I think you should take a test, perhaps towards the end of this week as that will be roughly 3 weeks since sex.

Thanks for the advice, we've been using condoms then things got a bit carried away but I just thought it took me 2 years to get pregnant the first time it would be highly unlikely, before I got pregnant I was on 38 day cydles and now I've had a period every single month since giving birth and they've been 28 day cycles

It's always possible but you really do need to wait it out and POAS.

I'm so confused! I get a frer test today and did it mid day if I shine it to the light there is definitely a positive line and it does look pink I'm going to retest with FU in the morning but how common are evaporation lines as I did see this about 5 mins after taking the test as had to change my babies nappy, I was under the impression they weren't that common on red dye tests
