Hi Guys,

So last month i came off my Pill to try for baby Number 2.
My period is now 5 days late but i have done a test and it was negative.
Does anyone know what could be the causes of this or has it happened to anyone?
My period has always been really regular - to the point with my daughter (who's 13months) i knew the day my period was due i was pregnant.
I have felt really rotten for the past week and 1/2 - Nausea/headaches/body temp up and down and slight period pains so i'm a little unsure whats going on.

Thanks

I think it can take up to three months for your body to get into a normal cycle after coming off the pill, so it might just be your hormones all over the place. I know they say you can get pregnant straight away but from what I have read the reality is that it takes a little while for your body to get back to normal.

@wrensandrobins yeah that's what i thought and well id be lucky to get pregnant so quickly.
I've just never been late before (only when i was pregnant last time) so wasn't sure if i should speak to my Dr or anything?

I think the doctor will just tell you to give it time, although you could speak to them if you are worried!

the 'period' you get on the pill isn't a period as such it's a withdrawal bleed, so it probably isn't something you could use to compare how regular you are, assuming you were on the combined pill?

Took me 68 days to have a proper period after coming off the pill x

Also being ill can delay ovulation so you might not actually be "late"

If ovulation is delayed by 5 days, your period will be approx 5 days later than normal as the Luteal phase (time between these) remains the same.

How many cycles off the pill are you? I'm on my third and they have been progressively getting longer - first was 30 days, second 37 and now I'm on CD42! Plus I'm fairly certain I haven't started ovulating again yet. Think these things can take time, but it's pretty frustrating. Hopefully you'll get AF soon and then fall into a nice cycle x

It can just be messed up post pill. I'm CD 132 after coming off Rigevidon!

I came off the mini pill in Feb, had a withdrawal bleed just over a week later and then regular periods the same time every month. It just depends on each individual x
