Ibuprofen at 2DPO

Hi all,

Hoping someone can reassure me...

I came off the pill three months ago and I don't think I ovulated my first two cycles. I'm currently on CD40ish and am temping which is how I know I most likely haven't been ovulating.

From my temps now it appears I may be 4DPO. I had a temp rise on Wednesday, the highest I've ever had, and then it dropped back down Thursday, and went back up Friday and has stayed up. Looking into it now I understand the temp drop Thursday could have been what's known as a fallback rise. On Friday I had bad tooth ache and wasn't really aware I could have ovulated at this stage. I took one dose of ibuprofen, haven not actually taken it for several months because of TTC, but I thought it wouldn't hurt and really needed the pain relief!

Now though after more high temps I think at that point I was possibly 2DPO. I know you're not really meant to take ibuprofen in the TWW, so am now a little worried! How much could 1 single dose (2 tablets) of ibuprofen matter? x

If you have got a fertilised egg in you, it will be just that, a fertilised egg; it's not attached to you, it's feeding off the yolk, the ibuprofen is unlikely to affect it at all. In fact the embyro doesn't feed off the placenta for a few weeks.

Good luck, I hope the tooth is sorted now

Thanks for your reply @Meme69 :) from what I've read online it can inhibit ovulation (which wouldn't matter at 2DPO) but also as it's a blood thinner it can impact the lining building up and make implantation tricker. I guess I'm just worried as we've been TTC since I came off the pill but this seems to be the first cycle I've ovulated, and we DTD the day before ovulation, just by chance as I didn't know I would ovulate the next day. Hoping a single dose wouldn't really matter x
