Hi all. Hope you're doing okay. Just wanted to vent a little, I guess, get your thoughts.

Just had an TV ultrasound. We're 6-7 weeks, with HCG at about 20k (and it's been steadily doubling) but ultrasound technician couldn't detect a heartbeat and couldn't see anything in the sac. Said that it might have been too small to detect the heartbeat, but we're taking it pretty hard. Still waiting on the doctor.

We were TTC for two months before getting that BFP and were just so happy when we thought we were pregnant but now afraid that were losing the little bean.

Anyways. No question in here, no real report, just needed to talk to someone about it.

Aw hugs. What a horrible position to be in. Are they asking you back for another scan or monitoring bloods?

I've heard storied where people go back a week later and there is a heartbeat, but also storied the other way.

I have no advice except be kind to yourself. Xxx

Thank you for the hugs. It actually means a lot.

Our doctor hasn't seen it yet, so we aren't sure. She has been a bit pessimistic throughout the process, and kept on saying that the HCG needed to be higher, even though it was well within a normal range and increasing at 2x every 48 hours. Honestly, I'm just hoping that she had the OV day really off so that and we're just too early, but dreading her call.

That sounds like a really really tough place to be. I hope they plan to rescan you soon.

How do you know you're 6-7 weeks? If they were unable to measure your little bean then they'll be unable to accurately date you. If you were at 5 weeks then it could easily be possible that you go back and everything is fine.

I really hope that's the case for you and that you get answers soon. People can make mistakes, and unless you're 1000% sure about ovulation (OPKs and BBT) then there's no reason yet to not believe your dates are just a bit out.

Curiosity101 - thank you. It is hard. We are pretty sure, but I see what you're saying. We did BBT and OPKs, which suggest 6.5 weeks. That being said, we had a second positive OPK a week afterward the original OPK and BBT spike. We thought maybe that was implantation, but there is some ambiguity (and hope) that we are just later.

Just really hoping.
