Control line on test?

Hello all,

I've recently done two First Response tests at 13 DPO and 16 DPO and am feeling a little anxious at the difference between the lines. Am I right in thinking that the line closest to the handle is the control line, so it doesn't matter if it's lighter, while the one closest to the cap is the HCG line? Terrified of this fading away....

Thank you in advance!

You’re right. They’re super positive tests! Congratulations x

They are extremely dark test lines i wouldn't be too worried but if you are get a digital weeks test to put your mind at rest x

Oh amazing! I've read about this happening where hcg is high and the dye is 'stolen' from control line to test line - they are called 'dye stealers'. Google it! Congratulations!

This happened to me when the test is so positive a lot of the dye is used up before the substrate reaches as far as the control line

Ah be proud of your dye stealer! Basically you have so much hcg that the test line is stealing dye from the control line - it's a sought after thing!
