Hi,

After a late miscarriage earlier this year, I have just found out that I have tested positive for lupus anticoagulant. I’ve had 2 tests.

I haven’t managed to speak to anyone medical about it yet and just wondered if anyone could offer some in-site please on how it will affect TTC. Google is scaring me to death!

Thanks in advance.

You'll require early monitoring and need to be on blood thinning injections whilst TTC and continue on them during pregnancy. As well as possible steroids to reduce immune system - can be tricky to get at the moment due to covid though

If you do get pregnant You won't be able to go into labour naturally and would need to be induced due to the blood thinners. You'd also be classed as high risk and be under consultant care and have a lot more scans - I had them monthly plus a midwife checked the babies heartbeat every week
