Confused about dates and pregnancy tests!

Hey Everyone,

New here as me and hubby have just started trying for a baby so looking for some guidance as I'm ever so confused!

So I know last month my period actually came early on 24/06 which is a bit unusual as mine are normally like clockwork and would normally have been due 29/06. (I have been off hormonal contraception for a while anyway before we decided to actively try)
Anyways, I didn't do an ovulation test but predicted that I would roughly ovulate between 08/07 - 11/07.
As it stands at the moment, for the last 3 days I have been experiencing what I think is implantation bleeding as I am due my period today but of course flo hasnt arrived - again this is unusual for me as I always get cramps just 24 hours before I'm due to start.

So, as I'm due today I decided to test first thing, I did a CB early detection and got the faintest line, that faint I think I might even be kidding myself, but at the same time as I was due today I was sure it should have been clearer? I also did a FRER at the same time which was a BFN.

Anyway after reading and reading, if implantation bleeding started Monday 20/07 then test would apparently come back negative as its too early? I'm confused as the dates for implantation don't match up to ovulation dates...

The other spanner in the works is that lets say I had my period on 29/06 as it should have been, then I would be most fertile by 15/16 July and we did have sex on those dates as well, so maybe I ovulated later?!

Also, I have been weeing like mad and feel quite tired with today being the worst for tiredness.

Can anyone shed any light on this as I am so confused!

I would do a test in 48 hours. The line will be darker then. If it's still negative you're unlikely to be pregnant.

Are you and your husband trying religiously to have a baby, or are you just seeing what happens and being more casual about it? If you are properly trying, I would definitely use ovulation sticks, and if you can afford to, invest in the clear blue ones. They tend to be about £18 for a months' worth on Amazon (you can then use the following month if you still have sticks left). When I first started trying I was just using a calendar to work out when I ovulated, but a calendar really isn't any good (especially if your period is sometimes a day or two out as that can make all the difference!)

Good luck

What did you base your ovulation dates on? Sounds to me like you may have ovulated later than you though and that's why the line is faint.

@kittenpeak we weren’t religiously trying this month but intend to next month depending on what happens, so I have got some ovulation tests ready! Thanks for the heads up on Amazon, I’ll take a look!

@Juno231 yes I think you’re right there, my last period was quite early so I think this month things were going to go back to normal perhaps and I’ve ovulated at my normal time nearly a week later.
