Maternity pay

I have started a new job in May and I’d like to ttc. Do I have to work for 26 weeks to qualify for maternity pay? That makes it ttc from November. Am I right?

Yes 26 weeks for stat maternity pay, if you don’t qualify you can claim maternity allowance which is similar I think. Unless your company offers enhanced maternity pay but most require you to be employed 1/2 years - you would have to check your contract.

For SMP, you need to have worked there for 26 weeks when you reach 25 weeks pregnant. So you wouldn't need to wait until November

For any enhanced pay, you would need to check your contract/company policy.
