Conception week

Well it's conception week for me...
Had my first Clearablue Advanced flashing smiley yesterday so have told DH he's got to get ready for a week of baby dancing and he had better her his strength up 😂
I have invested in a bunch of naughty outfits so I can ensure his enthusiasm is on point 😂
It's our 2nd cycle ttc
Anyone else in conception week?

Oh yeah and I forgot to ask... is anyone using any particular strategies ttc?
Aside from naughty outfits I'm using OPK and PreSeed

Hi @AlwaysLei8 - second cycle for us too!

We're trying a vague sort of SMEP 😅 I don't have opks so just trying to read my body. Unfortunately I never really paid much attention to ovulation pre TTC so it's all guesswork. Just trying to DTD as much as possible at the moment!

I think I will ovulate in the next couple of days, AF due 4-6th August, my cycle is usually 27-30 days. Usually 27 but I get the odd random long one. Going to try and wait to test until at least the 6th if AF doesn't show.

Are you trying for your first?

I'm nearly 35 and DH is 52 hence why we are getting strategic on it right away

AF due on 6th August for me... I learned last month how hard the tww is! Especially when patience is not your forte.

@AlwaysLay8 ah good luck, hopefully this is your month 🙂 yeah I think we're doing SMEP wrong as you're meant to have opks ideally, but I think if we just DTD as much as possible around when I think I'll ovulate we can't go too wrong haha 😅

Yes first for us too. The tww is torture isn't it, I had this idea that we'd casually stop trying not to conceive and see how it went, and that's already gone out the window 😅 I've asked DH to hide the pregnancy tests from me until at least the 6th this month so I'm not tempted to test early. Hoping that will chill me out a bit 😅

Hi can I join? I an also attempting SMEP this month, cycle 2 of trying to conceive #2. I wasn’t chilled the first time and I think I am maybe worse this time

I have used OPKs for the past few days and had a positive today so think we need to BD tonight, tomorrow and day after. So tiring!

Hope you’re all doing ok, the TWW is the worst so I think I might ask my DH to hide pregnancy tests too otherwise I will be testing in about 3 days...can’t control myself!

@MustStopSnacking28 welcome :) I managed not to do any testing last month until AF actually arrived, am gong to try to do the same this month but damn it was hard!!
Haha I feel you about the exhausting baby dancing... we haven't done it 7 days in a row since before we got married 😂😂😂😂 he looked both afraid and pleased when I told him the plan. I might be overdoing it...We'll see how it goes

Ok so someone on another thread posted that eating pineapple core during their fertile week was the one thing did differently during the month they conceived! I did some googling and seems legit enough for a shot ;) so I just bought me some tasty pineapples 🍍🍍🍍... there are definitely worse things!

Can I join. AF due 4th August. I should ovulate Tuesday. I’ve been using the CLUE app and my body is like clockwork, gives me all the signals EWM and ovulation pain but we just haven’t got lucky as yet. Been trying for 6 months. Bought some CB OPKs this month just to see what was going on, so far as expected. Flashing smiley started Thursday, expecting a static one tomorrow. I’m 41 so if no joy this month then it’s the GP for me.

Thought I would get the static smiley on the CB today but still flashing, has been since Thursday. Getting all the signs that I’m about to ovulate though so that’s confused me a bit. Maybe it’ll change tomorrow 🤞🏻

@shinylovesshoes good luck for this month 🤞 I use clue and the OPK too. Are you using anything like preseed?

Hi all, also into FW. OPKs taught me last month that I ovulate around CD17, so either Thursday or Friday. Femometr app predicted yesterday (totally wrong), FF thursday, Clue Friday. Been dtd everyother day since last week. This is cycle 4 for me, straight off the microgynon.

I'm on various different apps (Flo, clue and then fitbit) and they all are saying I'll ovulate a different day so I might go for opks next month

Oops pressed send too soon. I think I've probably ovulated today but am going to keep DTD the next couple of days just to be safe.

Has anyone got any techniques for staying distracted in the tww?

@Quercus3 sorry if this sounds unbearably hippy but it's kind of cool that you are ovulating exactly on the new moon 🌑 that's called a Red Moon cycle because AF comes with the full moon. Most women are the other way round and ovulate around the full moon and get AF around the new moon. Think it's only 7% or so that ovulate at new moon. I am red moon like you but several days late (always).

Arg another day of the flashing smiley face on the CB OPK... that's 5 days of flashing smileys. I was really hoping/ expecting a solid smiley today :( maybe I should test again later?

@AlwaysLay8 I would. I was getting the flashing smileys for days, didn’t realise you should test more often and when I did got the static one

How is everyone getting on? My CM is all over the place, I thought I was entering into 2ww but now I'm not so sure. Think I might go for opks next cycle...

@shinylovesshoes ahhhh you were right! I tested again 5 hours later and got the static smiley 😊 exciting

@Quercus3 my CM can be hard to read, I have found OPKs quite helpful

We might DTD one more time, just to be sure, although I’m pretty sure I ovulated yesterday so guess am in 2WW now.

Hi everyone! I think I am in the tww too now, pretty sure I ovulated on day 18 of my cycle. So now flo/femometer have moved my AF due date back by 4-5 days wahhh! But usually I have pretty consistent 28 days cycles so hoping that I might get a positive test maybe next Friday...if my AF doesn’t come first! Hope you’re all doing ok.
