Hi all,

My boyfriend and I have decided we want to try to conceive! I do track my periods on a number of apps, but I have really irregular cycles (ranges from 35 - 40 days). I have purchased some ovulation strips to help me out, but does anyone have any advice for me? Like when in the month I should start using the ovulation strips? Thanks in advance xo

I would test from basically day 1 once a day. Can't hurt! As they start to get stronger, you could start testing more than once a day or switch to a digital for clearer results. Good luck!

I would follow the instructions on the pamphlet - it tells you when to start based on your cycle length. Off the top of my head I'd probably start testing CD15 if I were you.

Hi all, I'm in the same boat as you @chloejwx , TTC baby number 1 with irregular periods. Mine range from 45-65 days which is a massive jump. At the moment I am in cycle day 77 with no sight of AF. Got a blood test soon and a scan to see what's going on. Hoping I am pregnant as there is a chance however getting BFN. Hoping I am just one of those women that produce low HCG in their system and doesn't show till later on! Fingers crossed for us all. Sending baby dust over to everyone! ❤️

If you can afford to, I would go straight to clear blue digital ovulation tests. If you buy the little strips you will drive yourself mad reading into them, and wondering if they're too faint. I wouldn't put yourself through it. I studied them til the cows came home, and found I got what I paid for!

The clear blue ones literally tell you , digitally, if you have a low chance, High chance or very high chance of conceiving. The instructions will tell you what day to start testing too, according to your cycle. It's good you've started tracking as all cycles are different and you wouldn't want to waste them.

You can get them on amazon for about £16 for 10 tests. Price varies sometimes they're on a deal

Unless of course you know you'll be having sex every other day of the month, in which case you won't need them. The test basically tells you when to do it. Very sexy!
