Evap?

Back story. Been trying from dec last year. I’ve been pregnant 3 times but unfortunately lost all three. My first BFP with all three of those times where fainter than this and around 11dpo to 14dpo. Any time I’ve not been pregnant I’ve never got an evap so I’m unsure. The frer I took alongside this has a line but I think it’s an evap or indent as it’s grey.

I’m 8dpo. I took this test this morning really early and half asleep, couldn’t get my eyes to focus much but threw the head up and told myself if I have to squint then it’s a neg and In a huff threw the tests in the bin and went back to bed (I’m close to giving up ttc).

Later today I went to clear the bins out to sort stuff for the dump and seen that this was on the test. It’s very blue. Can it be an evap? I know I have to wait until tomorrow to try again but my nerves are away and just wondering what other experiences are with this

Doesn’t look like an evap. Can u get a frer and test again

I’m going to test again tomorrow as I know my wee will be even more diluted at this time so afraid to test again tonight. Although frer or pink dye tests have never really give me strong positives even when I was 3+ weeks on a digital and 7 weeks pregnant so I’m reluctant to trust frer for me.

Just updating .. took another this morning. Faint blue line .now 8/9dpo. Thoughts?

Thank you. Today’s test was stronger and now showing on cheapie sticks so fingers crossed it continues to progress x

Just going to update incase anyone else is looking perspective on whether a late developing line is an evap or BFP.. I believe any line that appears that has colour is in fact a BFP. Even if it didn’t show within the time frame like mine lol positive on a digital today and strong manual linesman fingers crossed this is my sticking bean and best of luck to everyone else testing

I read a fantastic article on here about evaps being a myth - any colour change is because of HCG.

@HogDogKetchup I read that article also on here after I posted my original picture. Yes it says it’s impossible to get a second line with colour if hcg isn’t present. Really helped me get through the last few days waiting on that line getting stronger lol

I broke a pregnancy test out the window to see a really, really faint line (DH swore it wasn’t there). It progressed into a stronger line over a few days).

@HogDogKetchup I’m a pro at breaking tests open. If a coloured line is there even faint then I believe opening up a test doesn’t make it invalid lol congratulations to you also

I did the same on Sunday morning - took a test and assumed it was negative. I came back an hour later to throw in the bin and it looked like this. The line is so blue and solid and as thick as the control (all things I assumed meant it wasn't fitting normal Evap!) I've recently had a miscarriage and was so desperate for it to be positive. Alas, two days later all tests are still showing negative. I'm so so shocked by this test I have! Any thoughts?

I too read that article and was so, so hopeful! I can't understand this test!

It definitely wasn’t an evap. Unfortunately I have had this happen to me twice, in jan and in may, tested positive just like that line around 11 dpo and confirm digital and negative by 13-14dpo :( ended up being a chemical. I’m sorry if this is the case for u. I would make sure ur using fmu and test again in a day or two and hopefully it’s just ur hcg to low as you are early xx

No, not at all and so sorry that this has happened to you too! It's really useful to see what other people's experiences are as I just could not believe that a result like that could be an Evap regardless of it darkening an hour after! It messes with you so so much! : (

I know it definitely does and it’s not nice knowing it happened then stopped :(. Try again tomorrow and the next day. If it is negative then be kind to yourself and know your body can get pregnant it’s just waiting for the right egg :) x
