Sex After D&C

Hello!

I had my 2nd D&C 5 days ago, test is almost negative, not bleeding and not in any pain anymore. I’m taking antibiotics as a precaution as had a lengthy miscarriage process (8 weeks) so doc thought it best to err on the side of caution but not had any infection symptoms.

I’m going to be blunt, I want sex. I know it’s advisable to wait 2 weeks post surgery but not sure I can hold off on the urge, it’s been 4 weeks since last BD and just want to feel close to hubby again.

Has anyone had sex so soon after a D&C, I waited 10 days after my last D&C a month back. Trying to weigh up the pros and cons and trying to decide if I should wait another week.

after my d and c 2 years ago I waited until I'd stopped bleeding which was the same as you roughly about 10 days. sorry to hear you've had to go through this experience, especially twice.

I think 5 days is really quite soon but its whatever you feel comfortable with. I found sex really hard emotionally the first time afterwards and I cried because I associated sex with conceiving at that point and consequently of the miscarriage. if you are emotionally and physically ready and it will make you feel better than its up to you. I think the risk of infection scared me too much to attempt it too too soon more than anything else.
