AF due on/around 6th August 2020

Hey all. TTC baby number 2. Last month I was convinced I was pregnant but AF came right on time!

I'm now CD 6, AF has just finished and approaching this month with OPKs for the first time and following the SMEP plan! Trying to feel positive! Anyone else with me?

My turn for confusion over opks. I got my static smiley on cb digital this morning with 2mu, but cheapie opk still not as dark as the control line. Obviously missing something about how it works. Going to keep testing with the cheapies and see if I get a darker line later. We dtd last night and the night before, so that's hopefully a couple of fertile days covered!

Ah, right, I've been reading the information on the clearblue website, and apparently the advanced digital tests for your baseline lh level first, then identifies the surge according to your personal levels, so it can be different to normal opk.

@Threnody That sounds confusing! I'd say you're pretty good having hopefully covered a few fertile days already.

@Threnody yes I've had some confusion with those cb advanced too. You have to start them quite early in the cycle to establish your baseline first. Also unlike other opks they say to test in the morning which I got wrong!!

I'm not sure what's going on for me. I got my peak 2 days ago, yesterday my temp spiked so I assumed ovulation but temp dropped again this morning. I think I might just stop temping it's too stressful!! Wahhh. So I'm going with I'm now 1dpo but going to keep opk testing just incase with the cheap strips!

@ARIO how much did your temp drop? I find it reassuring to know I did ovulate. It's easy to get hung up on individual temps, but it's all about patterns.

Got a temp dip today, which would match with my cb peak, so I guess I'm ovulating today! Wondering if the high I got on opk yesterday was as peak as it got.

I've come to the conclusion I haven't ovulated yet despite my peak reading the other day. My temps haven't gone up which indicates I haven't. The peak reading was on cb but the ic I did at the same time were still very negative. I tested on Cb again yesterday and it was negative and this morning I've got flashing smiley! All so confusing, going to bd tonight any way! (hopefully, we've both come down with a cold!)

Looks like I was wrong, as just got a peak on opk. Still think today is likely ovulation day.

@ARIO It does look from your temps that you didn't ovulate yet.
Testing with the CB after a peak reading resets it, so the first day will have been establishing baseline. It may be your body tried to ovulate, but didn't so is having another go! Fx, and keep bding! Sorry you're ill!

Thats great you got your peak. Ov could still, be a day away though.. I cant remember if you said if you're temping? Smep plan would say you should dtd for 3 days in a row.now you've had your peak.

Thanks @ARIO, I think you're right, temp didn't go up (though I got woken an hour early), so might be today instead. I was so sure based on my temp dip yesterday and cramps. It will be more than 48 hours after peak on CB digital though. Agh, it's all so confusing.

OK, so got a peak opk even darker than yesterday's. Can you peak after ovulation?

@Threnody that seems to be what's happening for me. I got peak reading on cd13 but no temp rise then negative on both digi and strips (literally blank) opks on cd14. Then cds15 and 16 I've had high readings again. Today I'm cd17 getting loads of ewcm and seem to be gearing up to ov. I read that sometimes you can have lh surge but not actually ov for some reason so the body gears up to go again.

@ARIO maybe that's it. It's all very confusing.

My period is due on the 4th and I think I ovulated 5 or 6 days ago but my cycles are so irregular that I can’t be sure!
This afternoon I’ve had cramping on one side of my back and a bit of cramping in my stomach. I went to the bathroom straight away and I noticed I had quite a bit of brown ewcm! No clue what this means. Originally I thought maybe implantation but it seems to be too early? Does anyone have any experience with this? The ewcm is throwing me off majorly!

Hi ladies.

First month TTC. AF due 7th aug.

I'm currently CD16. Cycles are usually 27-31 days. Although last month had a 36 day cycle.

This cycle I had EWCM on CD13 with right side ovulation pain. I'm temp tracking although not had a big temperature increase, temperature is only slightly higher than what it was at the start of the month. So not sure if I've ovulated. Any thoughts? Planning to use OPKs next month.

Hi @LemonDrizzle44 the temp shift is based on 6:3, so your 3 temps after ovulation should be about 0.4 degrees higher than the 6 temps before, which looks like your chart follows that.

@Threnody thanks. This is my first month tracking. I came off the pill in January and just been monitoring symptoms and EWCM. I think I usually ovulate CD14-17. So surprised I've ovulated earlier. DTD on CD12 & 14. So hoping I might have just caught it.

Fx for you @LemonDrizzle44. I've been tracking on and off for 6 years (!), and thought I'd got a handle on it, but my miscarriage has really thrown everything off.

I've been doing some further reading, and it looks like the idea that you ovulate within 48 hours of the initial lh surge that all the apps and articles keep saying is wrong. Apparently up to 44% of women have a multi-peak lh profile, with lh surging then dropping then surging again, and it is the final surge which causes ovulation. So I shall assume that's what I had this month (though I'm pretty sure I didn't last month). Which has thrown all my timings out of the window. Ah well.

Have your temps gone up yet @Threnody? Mine still haven't so I'm assuming I have ovd this cycle. Or not yet anyway. I wonder if me taking vitb6 has delayed things. Can you share your chart?

Hi @ARIO, my temp went back up to pre-ovulation levels today. I had a slow rise last month, so hoping that's what is happening again. Here's my chart.

The TWW is killing me 😩 5dpo today. I'm pleased that I'm getting ready to go back to work after being furloughed for 4 months - that and my boisterous 2 year old are keeping my mind busy and occupied. But man I do wish it was AF due date so I could do a test. 🙈

@DawnLaura How many more days do you have to wait until af is due?

My temp was up to 36.58 today, so pretty sure I ovulated on Sunday, which I guess makes me 2dpo. I'm not feeling very confident about this month, but only 8 days to go for me.
