Conception vitamins

Hi all. I was hoping to get some help with conception vitamins.

I’ve been taking pregnacare conception vitamins for the last few months and my cycles have been all over the place (and a lot shorter). I’ve never had particularly regular cycles and so it might just be a coincidence but I’m going to move away from the pregnacare just in case.

Overall I eat relatively healthy with plenty of fruit and veg and so I want to try a more minimalist approach with supplements to see if it helps.

Other than folic acid is there anything else that is recommended when trying to conceive? Vitamin D?

Any advice would be great Smile TIA

I’m taking B6 as it can help lengthen your LP I start spotting 3-5 days before af so hoping it helps this cycle I also take folic acid, vitamin c and someone suggested on Here to take vitamin d so I’ll pick that up at the weekend. Pregnacare messes with my cycle terribly It delayed ovulation and af And made me feel quite sick so I stopped taking them.

That’s very helpful, thank you

You don't really need to take anything. But Folic Acid and Vitamin D are the only things I would consider taking if I was relatively healthy, had a good diet and had no underlying issues that I was aware of.

I'm always suspicious of most of the fertility/pre conception vitamins. If they were that effective then it would be easy to do studies to confirm it and surely everyone would be taking them.

I was taking seven seas ones which have been fine . I've just got some natural ones from a health shop so I'll see how they go. Alot of people have complained ed about pregnacare. You definitely need folic acid. It's very important and very difficult to get enough in your diet.

I take folic acid and vitamin d - because I have a known vitamin d deficiency even when not in the house all the time with lockdown. Folic acid is recommended before you conceive but asap from your BFP. Everything else really depends on what you're deficient in, you should be able to cover it with a healthy, varied diet
