New to OPK...help reading please

Hi!

I’m new to using OPKs and missed ovulation last month. Does this test mean it’s it’s likely I’m about to ovulate soon? Test done today at 17.00

My femometer app says LH levels 24% high.

I’m also using clear blue advanced and had a flashy smiley face this morning.

We DTD last night.

Should I keep testing?DTD again? Don’t want to miss the window thus month and not sure I’m reading tests right!!

Hi @Bouncytree I use the clearblue OPK and a flashing smiley face would indicate that you are in your fertile window! I would BD every other day until you get a static smiley face on your OPK. good luck! X

... and make sure you have sex one more time once you get the static smiley. This is because the flashing one is indicative of rising oestrogen levels but the static one means your LH surge has been detected. Once that happens most women ovulate within the next 36 hours, so best to have sex in the day or two following the the static smiley to make sure.

If you download the app femometer you can scan the stick and it will tell you your LH level and what % it is I just started this month and that how I used it. It will show if it's peak or high or low

Sorry only half read your post. I would keep DTD and test again if it keeps lowers I would say ovulation is happening or happened if you don't see the peak. But your definitely fertile

Thanks everyone. Just wondering how fast the surge can come on. Levels now at 41%....afraid I might miss the surge overnight or if it happens in the morning we won’t get to DTD till evening due to our toddler!

Once the test line is darker than your control line you will have your peak so I would say you've got a day or so to go yet.
DTD anytime you start getting dark lines is good

interesting to see how quickly you went from 24% to peak! I'm getting low "high" readings around 15% so assumed I'm a way off my peak but maybe not

Yes it was 5 hours! Though I didn’t test using the strips until today, so not sure when the line first appeared. I had a funny feeling.

Had first flashing smiley yesterday and had been testing since CD8. You are supposed to have an average of 4 days in the lead up to ovulation but only 1.5 for me. So perhaps my surge is very quick.

But I think once you see a good line, it’s a good idea to test frequently. I missed it last month as took the instructions a bit too literally. If you have IC there’s nothing to lose.

DTD yesterday and again today. Should ovulate tomorrow or day after. At least I timed it right this month 😆🤞

This was literally me last week I miss the peak on the OPKs I got 26% thinking it would go high didn't check to the next day and starting going low luckily already got to DTD. So fingers crossed it works this month with the help of them little sticks. Also @Bouncytree I've heard you can have 2surges so maybe keep testing if you only have for 1.5days. What times were the test done you said 5hours apart I'm assuming afternoon and evening. I think if I'm not this month will started testing afternoon and evening to see if I can catch my surge. Definitely think testing more is the way to go thank god for IC haha 😂

I ordered a box Of 50 premom so have lots! Jez yeah you wouldn’t want to be spending on CB constantly 😱

No so the peak happened within 5 hours...

8am this morning 109% so just catching the peak on the way down. My CB would have caught it but just about and we wouldn’t be able to DTD till this evening, so 24 hours after I started peaking which is on the late side. Think I defo prefer ICsMore frequent testing.

I was using the CB so that gave me heads up ovulation was on the way, but I’ve ovulated on my predicted day anyway. Yes I think morning and evening a good idea, I would have missed if I only did morning. Tricky business!!

My husband thought he was off the hook last night lol, but we DTD 2 days in a row 😅

@Bouncytree I think we were chatting g last month too I remember you I'm name haha 😂 I'm on CD 18 5/6DPO so in the waiting game at the moment. I bought about 30 IC I think but like I said I missed the peak as only tested once a day and that was the day the OPKs arrived and I was already in my fertile week but we had been DTD every other and then once I saw EWCM we did 3days haha 😂 hubby having a well deserved break now. I think I will stick with the IC for the first few month if we don't conceive then I may start trying the CBs
