Month 7 of ttc

So I'm now on month 7 of ttc. I'm still having irregular periods after coming off the pill those 7 months ago. Thankfully my doctor is starting the process of finding out why. I was like clock work before going on the pill. I am worried pill has caused fertility issues. :(

Try not to worry - i know it's hard! It took me 5 months to ovulate after having the implant out. I then conceived second cycle. It's quite normal for the hormones to stick around and throw off natural cycles for quite a long time.

I wish doctors would make that clearer when they prescribe birth control methods

@RMarieClaire they don't make it clear.
They lie and tell you that you will ovulate right away. They never told me it would take so long or that it might damage my fertility altogether.

I know - I was so upset by it. In general, the education around conception is really poor, certainly here in the UK. This said, I'm sure you won't have damaged your fertility - I think generally it's thought that birth control actually improves long-term fertility. However, that won't help you now.

Is your GP going to do a blood test? I also tracked BBT and used OPKs to try to work things out myself - i.e. so that they couldn't tell me I was ovulating when I wasn't.

I'm on cycle 7 too! Came off the pill back in Sep/Oct last year though. How irregular are your cycles now? Mine aren't wildly irregular but still make no sense. My LP is a different length most cycles, I ovulate on different days etc. My cycle is different every month and it's driving me nuts.

Had my day 3 bloods done the other week and they came back normal though so I feel none the wiser. Got day 21 bloods coming up to check if I ovulate but I'm fairly confident I do.

But yeah I hear ya, I'm in the same boat!

@RMarieClaire I've had blood tests and am being referred due to the fact, Im not producing a hornmone that's needed for fertility :(
