Short light periods

Anyone else have periods that only last about 1.5/2 days? Anyone else a bit concerned about this or anyone got any reassuring positive words?

I'm afraid nothing positive from me 😬 month 19 of ttc. My periods tend to be 2-3 days in length max but very light. I could probably get away with 2 sanitary pads in a day max tbh. Never heavy enough for a bloody tampon. It does worry me.

Juno231 · 13/07/2020 21:52

I'm in the same boat, on cycle 7 now 🤷‍♀️

A colleague of mine has short and light periods and she got pregnant with both kids on her first or second cycle though. I've also been on enough busses on this forum to see a few others with periods like ours get their BFPs.

I do drink pomegranate juice every TWW to thicken my lining just in case my light period means I have a thin lining.

@Navabb34 Have you been to the docs to see what they say?

Navabb34 · 13/07/2020 22:18

@AKcheer As I expected the GP said to contact them after been trying for a year. Also said can take up to 7 months for body to sort itself out after coming off the pill. I came off the pill in Feb.

Thanks for the pomegranate juice tip and stories of other people getting BFPs @Juno231 and for replying @Vea1601, nice to talk to some people in a similar position! Been weighing up whether to get ahead and be proactive with vit b and e to see if that helps or whether to see how things play out a bit first in case the vitamins mess with my cycle more!

@Navabb34 Oh no that’s annoying. It’s so annoying isn’t it just. for a peace of mind we have to wait a year. I guess the pill can mess everything up. I’ve been off it for about 6 months now. My period this month was short - 2 days when usually it’s 5 but so many people have said it’s probably to do with stress and everyone on this forum has said relax so trying that! Maybe try and relax.

Are you taking pregnacare too? I am - everyone says they are good.

Navabb34 · 13/07/2020 22:36

I've seen a lot of mixed reviews about pregnacare...some saying it helped regulate cycles and helped get them pregnant and others saying it really messed their cycles up! Seems a bit 50/50 but I guess nothing is certain in any of this!

@AKcheer

Ha, not messaged on here before, need to remember to tag!

I know! @Navabb34 it’s hard isn’t it. I don’t think mines messed my cycle up seems ok but who knows. I’ve heard vitamin c is also good to have

wishfulthinking101 · 23/07/2020 13:48

Hello ladies, please can I join Grin I am in a similar position too... can someone tell me what the pomegranate juice does? Thanks 😊

Meme69 · 23/07/2020 15:18

My periods are very light and 2 days long. I've been ttc for 22 cycles now. I have had 3 CPs and 1 MMC in that time though. No problem getting pregnant but can't stay pregnant

wishing3 · 23/07/2020 15:22

Just to offer you some hope, I have very short, light periods (5 days where there’s a sign in any form, but only 1 day where I’d need to wear tampon, others could just put tissue in pants and it’d have a small amount on at end of day). I got pregnant quickly and all well so far at 23 weeks. So I was either very lucky or it doesn’t have to mean anything ominous. Wishing all of you all the best. X

wishing3 · 23/07/2020 15:23

@Meme69 Sorry to hear about your losses.

Juno231 · 23/07/2020 16:35

@Navabb34 I will say that for people that complain about pregnacare - I've seen quite a few where yes it's lengthened their cycle - but it's lengthened their LP and it was actually borderline too short before? So I'm not convinced pregnacare messes up the cycles as much as it probably corrects it! Just a theory of mine though :)

Hi all, I know this thread hasn't been used for a while but I'm about to start TTC and I'm worried that even though my cycles are regular (27-28 days) my periods are very light. Usually spotting for about a day, then 2 days where I could get away with max 2 tampons a day and then another day of spotting (virtually nothing).
How did all of you get on if you were TTC? Is there anything you did to improve your periods?
Thanks!

wishing3 · 19/02/2023 17:18

Hey, this appeared in my list as I commented in 2020. My periods had become very light and I was concerned as I was 38. I got pregnant with no issues and am now pregnant for a second time aged 41. I hope this isn’t insensitive to others who posted and have had fertility struggles, but just thought it’s useful to know that a change in periods even when coupled with being older in conception terms isn’t always an issue. Good luck to you.

Thanks @wishing3 and congratulations. That is a relief to know.
