Coming off mini pill / Depo

I was on Cerezette for around 8 years and had no issues.
I switched to the Depo shot in October 2018 until July 2019 and got my last one - (Wasn’t a fan of the Depo shot)
I went back on the mini pill but was given Zelletta however I still had no issues with it.

I stopped taking zelletta just over 2 months ago and have had no bleed since. Around 4 weeks after stopping I felt really unwell and nauseous. Did a test and was negative so called my GP, advised to wait a week and retest.

I waited a week and did another test which was negative and still didn’t feel great so called my GP again.

They said its normal to feel unwell with the hormones trying to get back to normal and to call back in 12 months of my periods hadn’t returned.

Does anyone have any experience of coming off the mini pill with no bleeds and feeling unwell or even the Depo shot causing issues 12 months on?

It took just over a year for my periods to come back after coming off injections. It took about 6 weeks for them to come back properly after coming off cerazette recently (I had a one day small bleed but don't count that!)

I think the injections can mess you up for a while but your periods should come back soon. I'm sorry I know how frustrating it is ☹️

Thank you, I’ve seen those timings quite a lot so hoping they come back soon! Did you feel unwell at all coming off either? Just not quite feeling right?

Yes I did have a few days of nausea but I just figured it was the lockdown lifestyle (too much work and not enough exercise) catching up with me, but it could have been hormonal. I much prefer not having the mood swings, I'll be straight back on the pills at the first opportunity!
