Hi

So I got a static smiley on Tuesday cd13 so with the smep method I should have been dtd every other day from cd8 and then dtd tue,wed and tonight then do I miss tomorrow and dtd Saturday is that correct? What’s the purpose of missing the day, I’m scared just Incase that’s an important day lol.

It's to give the sperm a chance to recharge - daily sex can reduce sperm count. By three days after a positive OPK it's unlikely to result in a pregnancy anyway (the egg only lasts 12-24 hours typically), but it's a "just in case" the OPK peak wasn't quite right.

Oh so you really shouldn’t dtd everyday around ovulation... I got the static on Tuesday so I’m guessing yesterday I ovulated so today and tomorrow are my final shots at it this cycle would that be about right?

I really wouldn't worry about it. Daily sex does reduce the sperm count a little bit, but this is really only relevant for men with low sperm count. Whether you have for exampöe 2 million or 2.2 million isn't that big of an issue. The probability of conception is also very similar whether you have sex every day or every other day. I'd imagine the 'rest' days are there mainly to stop it becoming a chore. Good luck for this month!
