Help! Clear Blue Digital

Hi everyone.
My husband and I have been trying for a long time and had begun the fertility testing process just before COVID struck. Yesterday I was 15dpo and my AF was late and I took two tests yesterday PM - a Boots own brand and a Clear Blue digital - both of which were positive!
However, this morning I took the second Clear Blue digital and it‘s come back negative. I’ve now subsequently fallen to pieces and can’t get any more tests until pharmacies open. Is this a chemical pregnancy?

I think in these early days of pregnancy it’s really east to get a positive and then a negative on a digi. Take another one in a few days.

*easy

I recall having the same thing with my first pregnancy - for me afternoon urine seems better for some reason!

I took a lot of positive tests - then a clear blue (not digital) definitely came back negative at one point but I had a few more tests with me and took another one after holding and it was positive again. I didn't test again after that.

I really really hope the best for you. Do update us if you'd like to x

Thank you both so much. I completely broke down this morning - really feel like I’m losing my mind!

Hi @DuchessCatherine I don’t think the CB digitals are worth their expensive price tag tbh. Many people get false negatives on them. I would say yesterday’s 2 tests are accurate! Stick with the normal tests if you buy any more today. Maybe a FRER? Oh and congratulations! 🎉

ELW85 · 09/07/2020 08:46

@DuchessCatherine - the CB Digis are notorious for giving inconsistent results early on, whether it’s the ‘weeks pregnant’ or just a positive/negative.
On the day after my BFP, my temp dropped and I took another FRER and got a much fainter line than the day before. I was heartbroken.
However it was wrong and I have a beautiful nearly 15 week old boy napping on me. Stay strong and good luck!

Digital tests need a higher level of pregnancy hormone to show a positive so try not to be too worried. I would use a FRER initially and then use a digital after a few more days if you want to confirm with one 😊 x

Thanks everyone, I really appreciate it. I did just take an FRER and there is a very faint positive which could mean either I guess. Just going to try and be patient and retake and keep @ELW85 ‘s story in my mind!! Thanks again all, I have found this whole process completely soul destroying and never imagined I would actually get any kind of positive test so think it has sent me into overdrive!

@DuchessCatherine - honestly you have my sympathies; it’s a huge rollercoaster.
Take comfort from the FRER and give it a couple of days. I had spotting and everything and found it hard to enjoy it for the first 12 weeks.
Do stuff for you this afternoon, and try to take your mind off it, as hard as that is.
I’m here if you need me!
