First response rapid result

Hi ladies
Has anyone uses the first response rapid result tests? I picked them up instead of the FRER by accident as I was in a hurry because for some reason I still feel embarrassed buying tests at the ripe age of 27 even though we are TTC!! - how silly of me haha.
They say on the box that they work from day of missed period but I'm so irregular that I don't know when that is.
Has anyone got any experience with these please?
Are they likely to work a few days before missed period or no?
Thank you! X

Do you know what day you ovulated? I'd try and stick to two weeks after that if possible, but waiting that long seems to take forever! Good luck!

I'm sure I read somewhere that the sensitivity of these tests is 100miu(?) whereas the FRER is about 6. So I'm not sure that it would pick it up before AF is due but if you know when you last DTD, add on 14 days and should be good to test from that date x

Hey, I did EXACTLY the same thing, also 27 and in a mad embarrassed panic! I’m not sure how early they work- I think from the first day of a missed period? Mine was positive but I was 3 days late and cycles regular!

daisy0805 · 09/07/2020 22:29

@HansBanans yes you are correct - I did some research online and they just don't publish the sensitivity anywhere and apparently they don't ever get back to customers emailing in! Strange!!

@planbea my cycles are all over the place. I'm on CD 51 today! I spoke to the nurse and she thinks that although I produced the LH hormone towards the start of the cycle as normal, I didn't actually release the egg.

@Hopefulbride18 how funny! I don't know when I will ever stop looking for an adult in the room or actually feel like one myself!

I got a second positive OPK 2 weeks ago today and BD around that time so I'm guessing in the morning I will be 14DPO.

The time I had a random long cycle the doctor advised to test once a week until either my period arrived or I got a BFP. Sadly it was the first one but it seemed to be a good way to do it!
