How long after coming off the pill until first period?

Would anyone be able to tell me roughly how long after coming off the pill they got their first period? It’s now been 6 weeks since I took my last pill and there’s no sign.

If it’s relevant I was on microgynon for 7 years up until about 6 months ago when I started experiencing headaches so my GP switched me to desogestral which you don’t have a break on. I’ve googled and it says your first bleed should be between 2-4 weeks but the only advice I can seem to find is for coming off microgynon, which isn’t what I was on most recently.

If anyone can share their experience it would hopefully reassure me that there’s nothing wrong.

I think it depends how your body works! Did you fully finish the last pack ? I had my bleed when finished then had my period after a full cycle (28-32 days). Although I know my sister didn’t have her period for three months after stopping!
If you are unsure then the best piece of mind is always calling your gp :)

It took me about 6 months (after 12/13 years on Microgynon). I was just starting to panic but took some agnus castus and voila. It took another few months to settle down properly but has been fine since then.

I was on the mini pill for 7 years, didn’t finish the pack before I stopped taking it In Feb and had my first period a month later. Every month they’ve been regular since X

I stopped my mini pill and exactly 4 weeks later I got a period!

Forgot to say the same type of pill you switched too. I was on that for 2 years and 5 years before that Mirena coil.

I had my withdrawal bleed and then first natural period exactly 30 days later. This is only my third cycle off the pill, my second cycle was 37 days, and at the moment I'm on CD21. I know things aren't back to normal for me though as I didn't get a positive OPK until CD33 last time and then AF came 4 days later! Think it can take a while to settle down x

I had a first one relatively soon after...and then they vanished for like 3 months xD I'm a year later now and I've maybe had 5 or 6 periods over that year.

(Was on Mycrogynon then ridgevideon over 10 years).

So yeah, a year and mine still arent back to normal lol.

15 months, coming off loestrin for about ten years. I started investigations at nine months, they couldn't find a reason - ruled out PCOS, fibroids etc. Turned up eventually. Then took at least 15 months to come back after each of my pregnancies. Very strange.
