Do you test based on DPO or AF date?

AF due in 4 days (Saturday) so technically I could try an FRER but I ovulated late so I'm only about 5/6 DPO (got my Peak 6 days ago)

Probably going to hold off till Friday but I'll only be about 8DPO - is that crazy?

Also do you count DPO from the day of your peak? Or day after?

@RMarieclaire I would hold off until Monday if you can, 8dpo would be really early to get a bfp. Your peak tends to be 12-36 hours before ovulation so depends on how often you were testing but I usually count ovulation date as the day after your peak - hope that helps!

Thank you. Got my peak morning if CD23, after a high evening of CD22, so guess CD24 is probably the one to go for.

Will try to be patient Confused

@RMarieclaire I ovulated late last month too, it's so frustrating having to wait even longer isn't it?!

DressingGownofDoom · 07/07/2020 09:35

Well if you ovulated late then AF won't be due until a few days later so it's much of a muchness.

Juno231 · 07/07/2020 11:11

DPO starts the day after ovulation by the way - which in turn tends to be the day after your peak OPK. So e.g. if you had a peak OPK on the 28th, you would be 1 DPO on the 30th.

Your AF should be delayed if you had a late ovulation so go based off your DPO.

@Juno231 oh no that's even worse!

@DressingGownofDoom I always ovulate around day 22/23, and have a 32 day cycle, so that's normal for me. Just trying to work out if there's any point testing early or if I have to wait till AF comes (or doesn't... but probably does)

@DressingGownofDoom sorry see how saying late in my OP made that very confusing - I meant I ovulate late in my cycle.

@RMarieClaire based on your cycle length and when you ovulate you have a very short LP and should try and lengthen it with supplements (look into e.g. Vit B6). If it doesn't work then you should probably see a GP to see if your progesterone levels are okay.
