I have a copper coil that has been in situ for 8.5 years and has never failed me. I haven’t actually taken a pregnancy test in over 9 years but this month around a week post ovulation I started feeling a familiar feeling... my lower back was in agony and my hips were aching. I had that ragey dragging feeling that I only got when I was pregnant. I typically have shorter cycles ranging from 24-27 days but can sometimes be as many as 28 days. By Saturday (around day 24/25) I was still having the same dragging back pain and no AF so I went to my local pharmacy and they only had the expensive CB digital tests so I bought one and took it late afternoon it said ‘Not Pregnant’ so I took it at face value and binned it. Today still no AF!!! After doing a bit of online research I’ve realised that these tests are not very sensitive and have many bad reviews for giving false negatives. Customers were saying to open the test and see the test strips inside so...I’m ashamed to say...I fished the test out of the bin and did just that and there’s lines where the test part is. I know the best thing to do is to wait until day 28/29 to test again if no AF. I just wanted to see what the experts make of these tests and if they’re accurate?!

Hi op 👋🏻 these tests aren't supposed to be dismantled, something to do with chemicals reacting when air hits, I would definitely get a first response if you're wanting an early result. The clear blue digitals look for a higher level of hcg so may not show as pregnant until your levels are high enough.
I hope you get the result you're looking for 🤞🏼😊

I would get a First response test, give you a more accurate answer

Thankyou @Lily2020 AF would be well and truly late by Friday as it will be CD 29/30, so I will try and hold off until then!

Thanks @Em39ma I will get one of those or something similar to it on Friday. Everyone seems to think they’re accurate.

UPDATE: caved before Friday and did a regular cheapy test this morning with FMU. BFN without even a whiff of a line. Still no AF CD 29/30 so AF late by at least 1-2 days (if not more going by my usual cycles). Odd but I think it’s just one of those things. Will await AF.
