Sorry if TMI but does anyone else TTC feel like your OHs swimmers all fall out after DTD? I know it only takes one - but sometimes you wonder if one even got in that far 😂 it's like a rush the second I stand up.
Think I'm going to try legs up on the headboard for 15 mins after DTD during ovulation next week lol...

Morning @Kalecat!
I feel like this too!! I now make sure I stay laying down for about 10 mins after, before I stand up. From what Ive read, it only takes the best swimmers a few mins to get to where they need to be. Ive also read that once they are past the cervix (which takes a few mins) they are very unlikely to come back down. I think the 'rest' coming out isnt of much use, especially considering only about 5% of it all is actually sperm!
This said though.. Im still not pregnant, so dont listen to me Grin

The vast majority of what comes out is seaman not sperm itself ie the fluid, whereas the seaman has already shot upwards and doesn't need it anymore. My husband has a pretty much zero sperm count and loads of fluid that then errrr leaks out after DTD.

Don't worry about it. Those guys have strong tails and get where they need to go

Yes! But have been pregnant 5 x in total ( one dd) and all times I put my hips up in the air and yes LOADS comes out after , to the point I put a sanitary towel or lots of tissues down there . Like others have said , in about 30 seconds the good sperm have started their swim ! The science is mixed on putting legs up in the air but it’s worked for me , plus you can chill and be lazy and use it as an excuse with dh lol !

Ha! Yes definitely. I thought the exact same thing. After he pulled out (sorry tmi) lots fell out. Then once I stand up, more comes flooding out. Apparently the best swimmers will find a way to make it. We only DTD 3 times last month and I just got my BFP. Although the last time we DTD I layer down with legs cocked in the air so I’m not sure if that done the trick!

Grin This made me laugh. I know exactly what you mean and made a similar joke when we were TTC, but I would have thought most people don't lay with their hips tilted etc after DTD and yet there are lots of pregnant people.

Unless you or your partner have fertility issues I wouldn't give it too much thought. Other than DTD around the right time you shouldn't need to do anything else. Smile

I know what you mean and I did the legs up thing when we first started TTC. Then I read that a significant first portion of sperm heads up to the fallopian tubes and is there within 2 mins of ejaculation regardless of you standing up, doing a little dance or whatever. Some may come out but unless you're having issues and have been advised otherwise then I wouldnt worry about it.
