False positives with FRER?

Yesterday I had a faint line with a FRER. I know I shouldn't have got my hopes up but I did. Today negative with FMU. Has this happened to anyone else? Was I just seeing the outline of where the second line would be?

Both of my tests were FRER, positive and negative. Both bought at boots. I had no idea this was a common problem! I wish I didn't before I got my hopes up.

Are they evap lines?

Wow. I didn’t realise people were getting false positives. Why not just buy pound shop tests? Then you can do five and see what they say?🤔

Yes I’ve had problems too. Always rated these as the best but not any more. I thought it was only the ones I’d got from Amazon but it seems others have had problems with ones bought elsewhere.

I checked the one I used today before even peeing on it and there was a very faint line. These tests used to be so reliable but it would seem they are not as good or there is a dodgy batch of them. I’ve had lots of chemicals in the past and know what to expect. This is different and nothing to do with a chemicals - it’s a problem with the tests. So disappointing
