Coming off the pill TTC

Hello everyone, so today I've officially come off the pill for the first time in 7 years. Me and my partner feel now is the perfect time to start TTC, we were going to wait until next year as we've moved two holidays to then because of the pandemic but after a long discussion we've decided that there's no time like the present and what will be will be? And after being on the pill so long who knows how long it will take to conceive? What is everyone's experiences of how long it has taken after coming off microgynon or the pill in general after such a long period of time? I'm 30 next month and he was 30 last year, I'm so excited but nervous and I feel a little silly as I keep imagining telling all the family I'm pregnant on Christmas Day but that could be a long shot I know. We're in no rush but the more I look into it the more excited I get. Thank you everyone

I got pregnant with my second the same month I went off the pill. It's impossible to give a definite answer, honestly. Good luck!

Actually, the first time I got pregnant I had been on the pill for 6 years. Got married, and got pregnant whilst still on the pill 2 months later. A massive shock to say the least given I had never missed one, etc. I had been on the pill for a year when we decided to try for a second.

The PP is right and it will vary massively from person to person. But I conceived my second month after coming off the pill. I'd been on it for 14 years.

We didn't do any tracking either, just DTD every other day.

One thing I did find surprising was how long my cycles were though. I had my withdrawal bleed as usual, then 35/36 days before my first real AF, then I tested around 33 days after and got my BFP. I've got no idea if my cycles used to be long though as it's not something I'd ever paid much attention to as a teenager.

Oh wow that's quick, I can't remember really how long mine were either I was on a pill as a teenager I can't remember which one, then on the depo for five years but it didn't agree with me towards the end so I switched to microgynon. So I've been on contraception since I was about 15 in all just different ones. For now I'm going to do as you said just take it as it is enjoy ourselves if you know what I mean 😂 and just keep an eye on ovulation and things but not go OTT I don't want it to be a stressful experience.

@TamaraAbi - I've just read your post above and I was wondering if you had any updates on where you are with TTC? I came off of Microgynon on the 27th of July after taking it for 10 years! I had my withdrawal bleed on the 30th of July and have been using OPKs since. I had a slightly dark line yesterday and have had back ache all day today so I'm hoping that I am ovulating. I am just wondering where you are and if you experienced the same? Many thanks :)
