Clear Blue Advanced Digital Ovulation Test Help!

Hi all,

I’ve been following this site silently for a few months & looking for some help. So comforting to read so many people in the same position as me.

We are TTC baby #1, this month is cycle 5 - no one tells you how much of a minefield this process is! My cycles are around 29-31 days.

Two months ago I moved from clear blue digital ovulation test (pink) to the advanced test (purple). When using the pink test I had a peak ovulation (took the test in the afternoon). The past two months using the advanced tests I’ve taken the test first thing in the morning (as advised) and only had fertile days (flashing smiley - about 6/7 days) never a peak. Do you take the test in the afternoon too to catch your surge? They aren’t cheap tests so would really appreciate advice on this!

I’m hoping i ovulated this month & DTD every other day around that time but also afraid I missed it or didn’t ovulate.

Thanks!! x

Hiya,

I know this is an old post but was wondering how you got on? I’ve been trying for 3 months but switched to clear blue digital tests this month and I’ve had flashing smileys for the last 3 day’s. Also worried it will just continue and I won’t actually ovulate Hmm

Daffodil21 · 07/09/2020 09:06

@JaydeElise 3 days of flashing is totally normal. In the instructions it tells you the ranges. I think up to 5 is most common, 5-7 less common, 8+ more uncommon and they advise to stop testing after 9 days of flashing. I usually get 3-4 days of flashing then a peak, but last month I didn't get a static until the 10th day of flashing. I was about to stop testing but I had one test left.

Hope this helps!

@JaydeElise There were 2/3 months that I had only flashing smileys & no peak but the past few months after 3/4 days of flashing smileys I had my peak! It’s common to have a few days of flashing smileys before your peak so hopefully in the next few days you get yours! Let us know how you get on 😊 and even if you don’t get your peak it’s not to say you haven’t ovulated, perhaps your surge was in the afternoon rather than morning! x

I've just started using the clear blue advanced this month. I've been TTC #1 for about 16 months now. Currently being referred to fertility clinic but so far I've had blood tests which show nothing & an ultrasound externally and internally which showed everything to look healthy. OH has had sample analysis which showed borderline low sperm morphology so we have been taking supplements which aim to improve fertility and morphology for him. My cycles can be anywhere from 30-36 days and I used to use first step cheap ovulation sticks off amazon and using that and numerous apps I estimated ovulation to be around Cd20. This month using clear blue I got a blank circle on CD11, flashy faces on 12,13 and 14 and then CD 15 I got a static face. I was so shocked, could be a one off but now genuinely wondering if I've been miscalculating ovulation for a long time. OH works alternate shifts and late nights and it's not easy to DTD so we have relied on BD when my apps say my fertile window is. I'm praying this is the case and we finally have some luck this month! Wishing you luck whilst you TTC also! ✨✨✨
