New to TTC. Help!

I have DD (2) but she was a happy accident so I have never TTC before. Looking at the other threads I have no idea what the abbreviations mean. I came off the pill, have had one proper period and we started The unprotected sex around 3 days after it ended. Where do I start with measuring ovulation times? When do I take a test?

@lockdowners Hi! Welcome to the TTC journey! It would be best to start tracking your cycle if you aren't sure when you ovulate (if at all yet since coming off the pill). Using OPKs (ovulation predictor kits) from around 6 days after your period ends will help you see if you're ovulating and when. There's cheap strips on Amazon if you don't want to fork out a fortune but remember that any old line doesn't mean you're ovulating, it has to be as dark or darker than the control line. When you see the line getting darker, peak ovulation is close so best to test twice a day then! Remember not to use FMU (first morning urine) for an ovulation test. You can also start temping, using a basal body thermometer. You will start to see a pattern with your temperature and if you Google you'll find all the info about what ovulation temperature looks like etc. Cervical mucous is another big thing to look for. Become aware of what is going on down below! As for pregnancy tests, best to wait until at least 11 DPO (days post ovulation) but even then it's possible you might not get your BFP (big fat positive) so it's even better to wait until you've missed a period, if you can wait that long!

I hope this helps a little bit. There are of course supplements that can be useful, have you started folic acid? Once you start tuning in to your body you'll discover what supplements you might need. For example, something to help regulate your cycle length, to help ovulation etc.
