Ttc and zika...

I posted on here yesterday about ttc soon after a potential holiday to Mexico and was warned about zika - stupidly something I hadn't factored that into ttc plans!
Has anyone had advice from the gp recently about how long you need to wait after you've visited a country with zika risk? I've seen 3 months on the NHS website but some people saying 6 months when I searched on here (but they were old threads). I'll get an appointment with the gp ASAP to ask but didn't know if anyone had recently had the same Convo with their gp? Thank you!

I have recently. Let me check my notes x

GP said this is the guidance they look up:

So it's 3 months wait if it's only you or 3 months if it's both or him. Better than before and I was reading about 6 months. Might still be sensible to speak to your GP anyway. Mine mentioned folic acid too XXX

@serialplanner that's so helpful thank you! I feel like I was so prepared for this whole journey and this has completely thrown me. I've never been anywhere on the zika risk list and typical that when I want to ttc is when we're going away 🤦‍♀️
