BFP at just 6 DPO on FRER?

Frogspawn20 · 30/06/2020 08:51

Hey 👋

Has anyone ever got a BFP at 6 DPO on FRER? TTC #2 and am at most 6 DPO. POAS this morning and a faint pink line came up - I have attached a photo, but it is definitely there in real life, I'm absolutely not imagining it as I usually do Grin

I got my BFP on FRER with DS at 9 DPO, but have never known such an early one. Any other experiences?

(It came up within 3 mins and is definitely pink irl. Could still be an evap I suppose though).

@daisychain1620 I've had so many faint lines with frer recently and I realised most were probably there before I poas. Yours however is way too clear for an evap looks much more like a chemical to me and I've had 3 of those too. So sorry x

@daisychain1620

Don't apologise for the questions 🙂. After I got the negative from the blood test I took that as a true result and had thought that what i was seeing were evap lines (I'm certain they're not though and I did about 12Blush) or that I had a chemical pregnancy. I had another frer left so took it the next day and the line was v faint this time. Still no bleeding and that was a week ago. I'm currently on the mini pill, gp said that no periods are quite normal (not for me) and that the tests I took must be evaps etc although she did not actually see them as it was a consult over the phone. I'm interested in hearing what your bloods say. I was really expecting a bleed last weekHmm
I will keep you updated although I am expecting another negative result. I've had sickness and sore boobs but my test lines have all been faint, (there but faint) and if they are evaps they came up within the time frame and I must be the extremely unlucky. The doctor asked me if I had pain to rule out an ectopic pregnancy, have you had any pain? It's such a strange situation 😕 hope you're okay x
BPT2019 · 10/07/2020 07:50
@BPT2019 So sorry you're going through this. Have you tried your local EPU Centre? Mine was utterly fantastic when I had an ectopic
So sorry to hear you had an ectopic, hope you're okay. The doctor said she wanted to do blood tests before contacting the unit and I think I would need to be referred. Thanks for your support 😊 I really do think I'm not pregnant after the negative blood test, it's almost like it's been dragged out now 😕 x

Frogspawn20 · 10/07/2020 09:33

They should be scanning for an ectopic, not just asking about pain to rule it out. I didn't have any pain with my ectopic - I just felt a little poking/prodding sensation on my left hand side. I self-referred to EPU and they did a scan and lo-and-behold there it was. I don't think it's sensible for the GP so rule it out simply because lack of pain.

I'll be speaking to my doctor about it, I definitely want it checking 😕 Did you get faint positive tests or full positive tests with your ectopic? Also did you have a blood test too? X
Frogspawn20 · 11/07/2020 08:56

@BPT2019 If I remember correctly (this was 5.5 years ago) I had very very faint BFPs/negative tests immediately before my period was due, then I had what I thought was my period at the normal time, although it was much lighter and shorter than usual. Then about a week after I stopped bleeding my boobs felt a bit strange so I took a test and a full line came up straightaway. About 3 or 4 days after that I had those slightly odd sensations I mentioned in my previous post and thought I'd give the EPU a call. They did bloods and scans and discovered the ectopic. I had bloods every 2 days until my HCG was back to normal.

The ectopic could be managed naturally as the embryo had stopped growing - basically it was a miscarriage from my Fallopian tube rather than my uterus, if you see what I mean. So there was no need for any surgery or drugs and I didn't lose the tube.

A quick update from my situation, my blood tests were negative. I'm still getting faint positive pregnancy tests which the doctor said must be false positives (but I've had a lot) so I have no idea what's going on. I must not be pregnant but not sure why I would get positive tests at home 😒 Do I keep taking tests to see if they eventually turn to BFNs or on the off chance they go dark or do I stop? X

Mrschips07 · 13/07/2020 19:55

@BPT2019 Sounds very unusual. I think it it were me, I'd just keep an eye on it, pee on a stick every day and see if it progresses or if it goes away. Thats something you can easily do and it may provide a bit of reassurance. If you're still getting positives in a week, or if they are getting stronger (or if you experience any pain) I'd go back to the GP.

Thanks for your reply, yeah it's so odd and driving me insane 😂 I think I'll do one each morning with fmu. I've never heard of it before, I tested the tests with water too and no line appeared so the tests aren't faulty 🤔 x

Mrschips07 · 13/07/2020 20:20

Which tests are they out of interest? and have you tried other brands? (I'm sure you have)

I wouldn't want to get your hopes up, but I have heard of pregnancies not registering on blood tests and even scans. Did the GP do a urine test at all?

BPT2019 · 13/07/2020 20:32

I've used FRER and some internet cheapies, both range from very faint lines to faint lines.
GP didn't do a urine test, just blood tests. I genuinely think I can't be pregnant but I'm still puzzled and been searching the Internet for any other ladies in the same/similar position x

Mrschips07 · 13/07/2020 21:02

@BPT2019 Good luck, please keep me updated.

daisychain1620 · 13/07/2020 23:28

BPT it sounds like you're experiencing the same as me. I've been Googling loads but i can't seem to get answers. Gp told me my tests must have been evaps (what- on all 12 ffs!) after getting my negative blood test. I thought I'd be able to accept that but I can't get it out of my mind and if it was a chemical I thought I would have had a bleed by now.
So weird!

BPT2019 · 14/07/2020 06:43

Daisychain, are you still having positives too? It's a really strange and frustrating situation. When I spoke to the doctor I said surely all the tests can't be false positives but they said that's their explanation for it 🤔 Have you found anyone else in the same situation? X

daisychain1620 · 14/07/2020 08:31

I haven't seen anyone else with similar symptoms.
I took another test a few days after the blood test which was much lighter but a line was still there. Surely if it was a chemical I'd have been bleeding by now?
I honestly thought I could stop thinking about it when the gp confirmed negative but I just can't ignore all of the tests I did. I actually ordered some more tests which should arrive today but poas now feels like an obsession! I've been cramping this morning as if my period might arrive so we'll see.
I hope you get answers soon as I understand the frustration/head melt

BPT2019 · 14/07/2020 15:08

Yeah I would've thought you would've have had a bleed by now if it was chemical? I know what you mean about POAS obsession. I test each morning and am still getting faint positives 🤔 Let me know what yours say if you decide to test again soon 😊 fingers crossed you might get a happy surprise and a huge BFP! X

daisychain1620 · 14/07/2020 15:36

@BPT2019 do you pics of your latest tests?

BPT2019 · 14/07/2020 16:10

No, I deleted them after the negative blood tests. I'll try and take one if I get another positive test. Did you take any of your faint test? X

daisychain1620 · 14/07/2020 16:26

I posted a few of mine on the previous page of this thread but I'll include the one I took the day after gp said bloods showed negative

daisychain1620 · 14/07/2020 16:27

BPT2019 · 14/07/2020 17:30

It's so clear! I just cannot understand how your bloods were negative? Your tests were a lot darker than mine, mine are faint but there. Did the doctor get you to take a urine test? X

daisychain1620 · 14/07/2020 17:41

Yes a urine sample came back negative from gp a few days after the first tests I took (the photo on the last page that have the two tests in it). Then I was told to test again in about a week as theirs might not be as sensitive. Tbh I was testing all the time to either see a darker line or it to fade away to nothing. You can see from my photos the dates the lines range from. Just so weird and I can't leave it alone.

daisychain1620 · 16/07/2020 09:22

@BPT2019 how are you getting on?
I ordered some first response rapid results this time so as to not pick up very low levels like the early results does and I still think I have a line but doubt myself now. Also there is a symbol on the test handle instead of the words. Maybe this is due to it being a different type of FR? Maybe it's a dodgy test. Any way what do you think?

This shows the symbol better maybe

Hello, how are you feeling? I can totally see a line on your test! I think the rapid response are not sensitive at all so you must have higher levels of hormones too. I've had another faint line this morning, I should probably try a FRER again 😒 Are you going to speak to your doctor again or wait abit longer? X
