Chemical pregnancy?

Hello all,
I had 2 positive pregancy tests last week (very faint lines but def positive). I would be 5 weeks today. Yesterday I started bleeding, like a period but slightly heavier - red and with small clots. I went to hospital and they tested my urine, another faint positive. They said to wait and refer myself to Pregnancy unit. I decided to get a digital clear blue test today and it’s just shown as ‘not pregnant’. Now I’m thinking, am I going mad and I was never PG at all?? Or could it be that my HCG levels have now dropped and it was a chemical pregnancy? I’d love to hear if anyone else has experienced similar, thanks xx

Hi @tjm123. Sorry to hear you have been through all this. This does sound Like an early loss to me, I’ve just gone through something very similar. I tested pregnant 1 day after late AF, one week later I had bleeding that started light and then got very dark red, some clots and then faded to brown. Lasted 2/3 days. I was still testing positive at the doctors during the bleeding. But tested negative 4 days later, and again at 7 days. I was 5 weeks at the time of the loss.

So it does sound like a CP or early loss to me, if it’s early the hcg can dip that quickly. I’m really sorry if that’s the case. Are you doing ok?

The good news is the doctors advice was, this is just unlucky and doesnt mean there is a problem with your fertility if you are otherwise healthy. When it happens that early it means there was a likely a chromosonal or other problem and it wasn’t a viable pregnancy.

Sending kind thoughts

Sounds very much like a chemical, I'm sorry. I had a faint but clear positive when it happened to me, then a fainter one 2 days later and then like you say bled with some
tiny clot bits a day after that with negative test.
