Decided to invest this month instead of using the cheapies.

Started testing yesterday but used second wee of the day. As expected for day 10, it was negative. Just tested again this morning and there’s a solid smiley (but used 1st wee of the day like it says to do in the instructions). I don’t usually ovulate until day 14/15 so I presume it’s wrong because I tested at different times. Have a ruined to test now? That’ll teach me for spending £20 on tests!!! Ugh. Confused

Hi @MissyBate,

I don't think you've wasted a test if you got a big smiley SmileIf you're on day 11, it means you'll be ovulating tomorrow/the day after which is day 12 to 13, so only a day or two earlier than normal. I've been using the clearblue ones and mine is 2 days later this month even though I'm quite regular in terms of a 29 day cycle so I'm glad I've kept testing as I would have missed it otherwise! I think the clearblue ones are the most accurate and worth the money (thought they are ridiculously expensive aren't they?!)

How long have you been TTC? I got my solid smiley yesterday, day 1 of the TWW and I already can't wait for the 9th July! I'm amazed at how quickly it's taken over my life. You hear people say 'when it happens it happens' or 'just go with it' - I don't know how anyone does that Confused

I used the CB sticks and I got my solid a day earlier than expected, & what the other apps told me. We ended up getting our bfp on the 18th as you can see 😊

Best investment ever (& I spent over £40 In boots on it)

Thank you for your replies. I just thought it was meant to flash for a few days first.

@OliR93
This is my second month of ‘trying’ after having a late miscarriage in March. Last month I went a bit nuts obsessively symptom spotting and testing from 9dpo. I’m not doing that this month...it’s enough to send me crazy! How many months in are you?

Congratulations @Sansa87, that great news. Did you have flashing smileys before the static?

@MissyBate I had some similar! Went from low to peak without any high days? I was slightly disappointed because I felt I was robbed of having a few days notice! Stupid I know 😂

MissyBate · 26/06/2020 10:41

@holb54 Suppose that’s the weekend plans scuppered! Makes it worse that we were attempting the SMEP this month so I’ve no idea where we’re up to now. Confused

@holb54 @MissyBate same thing this month, from low to peak. Not the most welcome sight with the 30 degree heat yesterday Confused

I've managed to get pregnant twice when using CB kits but never when using cheapies as they are way too difficult to read. Not managed to stay pregnant but that's another story. Sad

Depends on your cycle length. I'm typically 26-29 days and I start testing day 8 or 9. Last month got solid smiley face on day 15 and had 4 flashing smiley days before. This month solid smiley on day 13 but only one flashing smiley before. I try and use first wee of the day but sometimes has been second - I try and space tests as precisely to 24 hours apart as best as I can.

I wonder if you have started testing a bit late as not got the flashing smileys but go for it today and tomorrow if you can and if no bfp in a couple of weeks try again next month starting a bit earlier in your cycle perhaps.

Knowledge is power when it comes to ttc.

Good luck!

Just tried a cheapie and that’s positive too! Confused How strange! My period was only 4 days long this month so maybe that’s changed things...god knows!!!!

@Camelos, sorry to hear you’ve not managed to stay pregnant. It’s so shit.

Glad to hear the tests are worth the money though. This TTC is a bloody minefield! I think you’re right about testing late, I think I should’ve started on say 8 according to the packet!

It’s cooled down a bit here @Tofu35, just in time for the weekend Wink

Only started TTC this month for baby #1 but have found the Clearblue good (despite the whole low to peak thing!) and it is nice not to have to be decoding the lines on the cheaper tests but honesty I use them as well.

@Tofu35 I work in a hospital in the kitchen up on the wards and we hit 30.1 today during the lunch service, bring on the cooler weather 😂

Tofu35 · 27/06/2020 10:59

@holb54 yikes! It's looking like this weekend and next week are a bit cooler, let's hope the kitchens feel some of that benefit.

@MissyBate never been happier to see an overcast sky.
