@candycrush2298 i had 4 private scans aswell as my 2 at the hospital 😂 haha!!
I also have a fetal doppler and listened to her heart beat probably everyday!!

Sooo ive just read a new one to try next cycle. Has anyone done or heard of using a heat pad during ovulation? Apparently a warm uterus is required 🙈

Kaybobx · 13/07/2020 20:32

As if we are on 27 pages already!! 🤣🤣🤣

candycrush2298 · 13/07/2020 20:36

@MummyBearBoo wow OK why would they check for protein? Sorry if this is something I am supposed to know already hahahaha.

OP posts:
candycrush2298 · 13/07/2020 20:51

@Kaybobx whaaaat??? We need a warm uterus??? Omg!!! Going to Google this it sounds interesting!!!! What kind of heating pad?

I have read about fetal doppler are they good? Like do they really work? Lol 4 scans sounds about right hahaahah!!! Something I can totally see myself doing.

We at 27 pages because we can't stop talking hahahah!! But I am grateful. Dont stop talking guys whahaha

Proteins can indicate risk factors for things like pre-eclampsia (which they test for later usually) gestational diabetes and that liver issue which makes you itch loads - the name escapes me me!! Xx

TTC123firsttime · 13/07/2020 21:26

Hi ladies, I’m 5DPO (according to natural cycles) and have had some brown discharge in my underwear today, as well as slight twinges in my left side (this part might be symptom spotting..!)
I’m due AF on 19th (again going on natural cycles prediction and I usually have an 11 day luteal phase).

Could the brown discharge be implantation related? I know 5DPO is relatively early, but I’ve also read some pages on google (😂 classic frantic googling!) that said Implanting at 5DPO is a possibility.

I guess I’m asking as I’ve never had implantation bleeding before so unsure really what I’m looking for, but it’s too early for AF and brown rather than red in colour...

Thanks in advance for any responses!!

Kaybobx · 13/07/2020 21:36

@candycrush2298 no idea! One to Google, currently sat in a warm bath incase it helps haha!

Yeah the dopplers are awesome. You need to know what you're listening for though as the placenta sounds like a heartbeat. The heartbeat is just faster (my friend is a midwife) they aren't recommended by them though for that reason and only for professionals but you get to know it after a few uses.

Haha we're crazy obsessives!! I had a scan at 7wks as i couldn't wait until 12 to know she was ok. She was barely a blob but could see and hear the heartbeat 💓 i had a gender reveal at 16wks, then took my mum to a scan, then a 4d one at about 30wks plus my 2 hospital ones 🙈🙈

candycrush2298 · 13/07/2020 21:47

@MummyBearBoo that makes sense. Thanks for explaining whahah sorry!!

@TTC123firsttime it could definitely be. Good luck hope it means something.

@Kaybobx that is sooooo cool!!! I would totally use it but I would most likely be getting it wrong but will just watch YT tutorials like for everything whahahahah!! As I would need that kinda confirmation.

Omg!! That is exactly what I told my husband we need private scans to fill in the gaps and a 4D scan as I need it. Just like neeeeeeeed it 🤣🤣🤣🤣

@candycrush2298 getting pregnant and actually pregnancy is more expensive that when the baby is actually here hahaha!!

candycrush2298 · 13/07/2020 21:59

@Kaybobx lol surely you're kidding hahahaha!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I really hope so 🤞🏼

Keeping everything crossed for everyone and looking forward to hearing how everyone gets on closer to the 20th..!!

Boc86 · 14/07/2020 06:27

I definitely want a scan around 7 weeks to see the heartbeat
5dpo, I want to start testing obsessively from 8dpo but I really want to try and wait till next Tuesday which will be 12dpo

candycrush2298 · 14/07/2020 07:02

@TTC123firsttime lets see!!! I am rooting for this to be a good month.

@Boc86 me too!!! Hahahaha how is your will power will you make it to 12dpo?

@candycrush2298 @Kaybobx Thanks guys. Took a bit of time off the forum to just do a bit more crying. Feeling a bit better now still upset but getting there.

@Boc86 @Kaybobx thanks for confirming about what to do after the positive. I am surprised the appointment is at 8 weeks and not earlier? Do they not need to check that your producing all the right hormones

@Kaybobx ooo 4D Scan ... was it worth it? Would you highly recommend?

candycrush2298 · 14/07/2020 08:47

@Elakiya no worries, glad you are feeling a little better.
At least now we know what happens LOL!!!

TTC123firsttime · 14/07/2020 08:54

Morning ladies, bit of an update after yesterday’s brown discharge.. this morning I’ve had very light pink spotting when wiping after the toilet (happy to share photo of that helps anyone else as ive been googling ‘implantation bleeding photos’ like a maniac..! But also aware it’s definitely TMI 😂)
So I feel like that’s possibly a good sign. I should be 6DPO today, but I’ve just checked natural cycles again and it’s changed my ovulation day to Saturday with no explanation of why, so if that’s correct I would only be 3DPO today... why is this all so confusing!!
I definitely feel that I ovulated earlier than that though due to positive OPKs and EWCM on Wednesday at CD16 last week (with negative OPKs from Thursday, so think Saturday would be too late for ovulation based on that.)

My average cycle length is 29 days, and I only have an 11 day luteal phase. Not sure if that plays a factor in early (possible 🤞🏼) implantation or not.

Trying to resist every urge to test earlier than Sunday as I’m maximum 6DPO so obviously setting myself up for a BFN 😂 who knew two weeks could feel so long..!

Kaybobx · 14/07/2020 09:02

@Elakiya glad you are feeling a little better hun.

Not sure why you aren't seen sooner to be honest. Maybe because your scan isn't until 12 weeks so they don't know if your baby is formed or has a heartbeat so don't invest too much time in you. Just my thought I don't actually know.

The 4D scans are amazing to see your baby. My little girl yawned which melted my heart. It looks nothing like your baby when they arrive though haha!

@TTC123firsttime wow that definitely sounds like implantation!! Fingers crossed for you.

Around 11pm last night i got like a lightning bolt pain in my uterus! Made me jump then i was getting like pulsing mild shooty pains in my vag j j and left side! Praying that was implantation, never experienced that before. Lasted like 5 mins or so! 8DPO with a negative test.

How are you @candycrush2298? Have you tested

candycrush2298 · 14/07/2020 09:08

@TTC123firsttime wow that definitely sounds like an implantation bleed!!! Hoping so for you maybe once the spotting has gone away after a day or two you can start testing???

@Kaybobx omg that sounds so promising!!! Wow really hope that was implantation. If it was then you likely wouldn't get a positive today lol.

And yes I tested and its negative. AF is due anytime now. Will obviously keep testing until it arrives but not much hope lol!!

OP posts:
TTC123firsttime · 14/07/2020 09:14

Oooh fingers crossed @Kaybobx that does sound promising!

I forgot to mention also that my bbt dipped very slightly today (by 0.14 degrees) which I’m sure I read somewhere ha a possible link to IB.
Just keeping everything crossed and trying not to get too excited. Maybe I’ll test Friday at the earliest (I say that now... 😂)

I’m now stressing about the change in ovulation date though as we didn’t DTD on Saturday (as it had already pinned my ovulation as between Tuesday and Thursday, with Wednesday (CD16) as the most likely day. So that’s really thrown me this morning, especially as I’d be way too early for IB if I did ovulate on Saturday.

Can’t wait to start seeing some BFPs on here!! Sending positive vibes to everyone. I’ve attached my BBT chart from this month too so far incase its helpful to anyone x

@Elakiya sorry you've been having a rough time I hope you're ok.

I have the sorest boobs ever this morning but I've had this in other cycles so not getting my hopes up!
No other symptoms.

Midwife head on now - all trusts will be different in regards to procedures due to coronavirus. I speak from what we do - you have a booking appt about 8-10 weeks. We take bloods and book a scan and give lots of info and take a history. We test urine but not for pregnancy, as others have mentioned it's for infection/protein etc. We consider home pregnancy tests to be accurate so we don't re test!
I've been doing the bulk of this appointment over the phone then seeing people face to face for bloods/bp/weigh and measure to work out bmi.

Your second appt will be your dating scan.

Then you are normally seen at 16 weeks to check bp/urine/listen to heartbeat if you wish. Some trusts had changed this to a phone consultation but we haven't.

We don't measure the bump till 28 weeks in any trust in the uk any more (or we shouldn't be).

I don't recommend home dopplers as they can create a false sense of security. The signal can double and you can thing you're listening to the fh when it is your own pulse doubled.

Any questions I'm happy to answer.

We really need some bfp on here for sure.

snapple21 · 14/07/2020 09:25

@Elakiya the bloods don't confirm a pregnancy. We only check for hcg where someone has pain/bleeding and that would be done in an early pregnancy unit, not as routine.

Sadly as miscarriage is so common this is why we wait til 8 weeks to see people.

Boc86 · 14/07/2020 09:27

@candycrush2298 my willpower is awful it’s a miracle I haven’t tested yet and I’m 5dpo hahaha

@Elakiya they don’t do any kind of tests on hcg at any point, your GP would if you requested it or they thought it necessary in the early weeks like 4+

Oh exciting @TTC123firsttime !

Kaybobx · 14/07/2020 09:29

@TTC123firsttime i don't understand the BBT, maybe i should look into this for next cycle (hopefully i dont need it).
Quite confident youre having implantation though. Have you experienced any bleeding before?

@candycrush2298 oh no!!! Do you feel like she's going to show? Praying she doesn't, keep testing.

littletandme · 14/07/2020 09:41

A little bit of line progression from yesterday! Not going to test for a few days now, I have some CB with weeks coming at the end of the week so might wait till then if I can!

TTC123firsttime · 14/07/2020 09:42

@Kaybobx no haven’t had any bleeding / spotting like this before.

The only time I’ve had something vaguely similar was last month - had some brown blood (not spotting or discharge) after DTD but we weren’t TTC then (this is actually what prompted us to TTC earlier than planned as we were both disappointed when the pregnancy test was negative..!) I googled it and it said possible IB (hence the pregnancy test), old blood or AF arriving... AF arrived the next day! It was very different to both yesterday’s discharge and today’s pink spotting though.

I have 15 OneStep IC’s so will start using them to satisfy the testing urge from Friday I think, and save my 2 FRERs for Sunday / Monday. Also have a CB digital weeks test but sounds like that’s no use until after a strong line on a BFP.

I’ve been temping for years as contraception to avoid hormones but still no closer to fully understanding what’s happening as finding TTC much more complicated than I thought 😅 my charts look different most months but hopefully this one will be vastly different for more positive reasons..

Sorry to hear of those going through difficult times this month. Keeping everything crossed for good news for us all very very soon..!
