1 positive tests, 4 negative, why?

Hi everyone,

I'm not ttc, I'm actually on the mirena coil but had been missing periods and getting odd symptoms so thought I would take a test and it came up positive, albeit faint.

I was quite shocked and took 3 more standard ones and 1 digital, all blindingly negative. Strangely I'm really disappointed despite not ttc and it not being the right time anyway.

I just wondered if anyone knows what would cause me to get a positive test on one, but 4 other negatives?

It depends on the test. I've had false positives on cheap supermarket tests. Could be an evap line with no colour but looks like a shadow of an indent.

Ahhh thank you, it was a cheap supermarket one, the others were all clear blue so maybe that's why. At least I will know for next time :)
