Help!!! So confused

Hi I’m new to this but I was wondering if anyone could help me as I’m so confused ! So I took a pregnancy test a day after my period was due, and turns out I was pregnant! A very faint line but a line was there! As I did with my first Child I took another test the day after to see if the line was darker but it was still just as faint, so I left it for a few more days and tested again. this time the line was barley even visible which confused me slightly ... the same day I started spotting , but the same thing happened with my first so didn’t concern Me that much so I carried on as usual . The next morning I woke up with terrible menstrul like cramps and was bleeding like a normal period ! I thought it was safe to say I had probably miscarried or had a chemical pregnancy as I was so early on ! So I bled for approx 4 days and wanted to get straight back into it and try for another baby straight away! so Ino it was probably too early but on the 5th day I took an ovulation test as I wasn’t sure when I’d be ovulating that month with having a miscarriage And wanted to keep an eye on it ... the test actually came back positive ?! Which Has confused the hell Out of me what does that mean? Is it picking up pregnancy hormones in my urine from my miscarriage ? Or am I actually ovulating as early as that? Anyone else had this same experience ? Obviously me and my partner got busy that night just Incase haha but I’m positive you can’t ovulate that soon after so why???

Have u tried taking another pregnancy test. Ovulation tests can’t tell the difference in LH and HCG so you could very well still be pregnant or the hcg hormones hasn’t left ur body. A lot of woman bleed heavily in pregnancy around the time their period is due and go on to have healthy pregnancies

Mummy120494 · 23/06/2020 11:51

No I haven't I was told by the midwife not to take one for another few weeks because chances are it will probably show positive still as I'll still Have the HCG hormone in my urine . I really want to take one but don't want to because it'll just get my hopes up :/ I do have a digital one however which showed as 1-2 weeks on the 17th of June so I guess technically if I am pregnant still that would show as 2-3 weeks? 🤷🏼‍♀️

i have just taken a clear blue test and it's "not pregnant" so I'm definitely not pregnant but what I don't get is if even the clear blue test isn't picking up the HCG hormone then what the hell is the ovulation test picking up? The clear blue test is supposed to be one of the most accurate and sensitive tests so for that to not pick anything up tells me it hasn't detected anything but for a cheap £1 pack of ovulation tests to pick up a line it's gotta of picked up something? 🤷🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️ so confused lol

Clear blue digital tests aren’t super reliable early on. I’m 30+3 weeks pregnant with my first and I did a digital test 3 days after my period was due and it said not pregnant , but my first response had two lines. The clear blue digital didn’t show ‘Pregnant’ until a week after I was due ! Good luck x

Mummy120494 · 23/06/2020 12:21

I mean technically if I was still pregnant I would now be 1 week and 3 days late in my period and like I say I did test positive on 4 pregnancy tests about a week ago so I'm
Definitely ruling out the possibility of being pregnant . But is it possible to ovulate that quickly after bleeding? My cycle is usually about 30 days

Suppose the clear blue test is showing that ur hcg levels are dropping. Which is good. But those tests require higher amount of hcg levels so you probably still have lower amount in your system. After I had my miscarriage at 7 weeks I started tracking opks two days after the bleeding stopped when clear blue was giving me negative results. The opk test had a high second line. I took it as high tho and ignored it lol and I did ovulate later on the month at CD19

Juno231 · 23/06/2020 12:26

What @BruceAndMarley is telling you that you might need to test with a FRER instead of a CB, as the CB could be telling you "not pregnant" even though there's still HCG in your urine which a FRER would pick up on.

I'd say it's unlikely you're ovulating, the OPKs are probably picking up on your HCG.

Mummy120494 · 23/06/2020 12:30

Ohh really I thought that Clearblue were like the best haha guess there not all there hyped up to be then ! Lol 😂 is a FRER a first response? Sorry new to all these short terms 🙈 so 2020wish yours did the same as me but you wasn't ovulating ? It just picked up the pregnancy hormone ? Well I'm still not going to take the chance and get busy haha but I'll be sure to test every day to make sure I no for sure when I'm ovulating ! Thanks for the responses guys didn't think I'd even get a response has made me feel better :)

2020wish · 23/06/2020 12:40

Yea I wasn’t ovulating. Yea frer is a first response. And yes cover yourself anyway and then also keep checking through the month so I don’t lose ur actual window x

Mummy120494 · 23/06/2020 13:16

Thank you 2020wish I will do ! I'll let you no if I get a BFP next month fingers crossed 🤞 x

BruceAndMarley · 23/06/2020 14:16

Sorry OP I wasn’t very clear, I didn’t proof read before commenting sorry ! Yes a first response is a FRER , clear blue are definitely not the best and they’re also so expensive compared to more accurate FRER. Let us know how you get on x

abilouise93 · 23/06/2020 14:54

Hi All,

Similar situation to me apart from I took a test on a cheapie one that came with the easy@home OPK strips (waiting for FRER to arrive) and it came back as a BFN. I’m now 2days late and no sign of AF. My BBT is still high trying not to get excited as it is only my first month trying and I’ve not long had the implant out (end of April).

Thursday will be the day I test after the FRER arrive tomorrow if AF doesn’t arrive 🤞🏼

Mummy120494 · 23/06/2020 16:18

Bruceandmarley haha no worries lovely thankyou for giving me your experience and I'll be sure to stay away from
Clear blue now !

Abilouise93 hi hun it took me approx 6 months to conceive my first child once I had the implant taken out , you could be very lucky and possibly be pregnant like you said try not to get your hopes up just yet with you just having the implant taken out it can mess up your cycle a bit it did mine anyways! But most couples conceive within 6 months of trying so don't worry if you don't this month ! Try not to do what I did and constantly take tests it just takes over your life waiting for that little line lol 😂 just make sure you know exactly when your ovulating by taking ovulation tests and go for it when you are haha ! Good luck let me no if you get that line ! :) x

abilouise93 · 23/06/2020 17:30

@Mummy120494 yeah I am not getting too excited as I wasn’t expecting it at all but AF did show in May around when I expected so started testing with ovulation tests after finished. Got that peak 7th/8th June and DTD before on and after so who knows. Totally expected it to be 3-6months at best so I’m not getting excited.

Hope your journey is smooth and you get the BFP soon!

Mummy120494 · 23/06/2020 18:00

@abilouise93 yeah just have to wait and see like I said you just might be one of the lucky few! Lol so fingers crossed for you ! Well you've done all the right things I didn't start testing my ovulation properly until like 4 or 5 months after having the implant taken out I just thought you DTD and got pregnant didn't realise there was all this fertility window shit haha 😂 it's amazing how any of us actually get pregnant cuz you gotta get it just right! Haha thankyou let me no when you get the BFP!!! Xx

OP posts:
abilouise93 · 23/06/2020 18:10

abilouise93 · 25/07/2020 08:38

@Mummy120494 unfortunately AF showed her face but I’m currently in the TWW and about 9dpo temp is still high but could mean anything. I might test Tuesday or Wednesday if nothing changes. Congratulation on the BFP!

Mummy120494 · 25/07/2020 11:57

OP posts:
abilouise93 · 25/07/2020 12:06

@Mummy120494 totally not letting it stress me. Resisting testing and thinking about it too much. I’ll get my BFP soon 😊. Will you be booking in an early scan? X
