6 days late - BFN

Hello,
I am on my first cycle TTC for baby #1.
I have endometriosis and I have had the mirena coil in situ to try and help. I was getting some periods when this was in but not regularly. I have had one period since it was removed so this is definitely a fresh/proper cycle, and didn't start trying until after this.
I had sex regularly at the right time, which I know still doesn't guarantee pregnancy, but I feel that this is relevant!
So..... I'm on cycle day 34 now. Getting BFN every morning but still no sign of AF coming.
I'm a bit stuck because I know that with my endometriosis and having recently had the coil out I might just be having longer cycles but I'm also confused as I ovulated around CD 13.
Please can anyone point me in the right direction? A few friends have suggested contacting my GP but I'm not sure that's necessary at this stage.
Could I be pregnant and it too early? Could I be just having a long cycle? Could there be something wrong?
Thank you xx

My first 'fresh cycle' after having the coil out was longer than normal, and then they settled into my normal 31 days by the second cycle.

It played horrible tricks with my mind, and I was testing so much as we were also TTC. If you're a week late and still no period, it may be worth talking to the doctor though, even if they just reassure you.

I had cycles up to 72 days after coming off the pill, for almost a year before setting. No reason to assume pregnancy rather than just long cycle if test is negative. Wait 2 weeks and yest again?

@Dr273 thank you. - I believe it's different with the Mirena coil. Women should and generally do tend to go back to 'normal' immediately after removal. I hope it doesn't end up taking as long as yours!! Xx

@batmanbaby that's food to know - thank you x

@daisy0805 I also just had the coil out on the 8th. I have PCOS and it's the first month of TTC. I was wondering if the first month is accurate with the coil being removed but read it says you can be fertile right away!?

daisy0805 · 22/06/2020 17:16

@chrissagcat - everything crossed for you.
I've read this online too, and was also told this by my consultant before it went in as well as my GP!

@daisy0805 keep me posted! I've read so many "I conceived in my first month" messages and I'm trying to manage my expectations that it may not be that simple. X

Hi ladies.
Update.... I randomly took an OPK today - looks on its way to being positive (photo attached - taken within 5 mins of dipping).
I've already had a certain positive OPK within this "cycle" and I'm now counting myself as 26 DPO - but this has thrown a spanner in the works.
I'm so confused...
What's going on :( can anyone help me at all please?

Daisy have you been temping or just using opks?

daisy0805 · 25/06/2020 17:28

@planbea I was temping too but my thermometer broke I've got to order a new one!! Will that help me with accuracy do you think? X

daisy0805 · 25/06/2020 17:32

@planbea - just to clarify I'm now on CD 37 if this helps x

@daisy0805 ignoring the coming off contraception and what that does, endo can really mess with your cycle length (fellow endo here!). I found temping much easier to follow what was going on, bonus of also not spending a small fortune on opks each month.

I read taking charge of your fertility and it really helped too. While luteal phases can differ, it should be round the 14 day kind of length, I wouldn't imagine you could be 26 days past ovulation without a bleed or positive test. A doctor will be reluctant to do any tests one month in but a long luteal phase can indicate a progesterone issue, if it is that. I'd suspect you are just having a long cycle and AF or your BFP will be around in about two weeks from now following your positive opk

daisy0805 · 25/06/2020 17:57

@planbea thank you SO much! It's so useful to have an insight from another endo sufferer.
I'll get that book and have a read.
I keep telling myself oh I won't test tomorrow... but then I still don't come on and it's like how long do I leave it!?
For now I will keep having sex and just see what happens in another 2 weeks like you suggest.
Thank you again I really appreciate it!!

@daisy0805 hopefully it won't be long!! I'm still waiting for AF. Due today. Took a test first thing and just not even a squinter.
