How late can you ovulate?

Hey everyone, pretty new to this TTC business!

Long story short I came off the pill in feb, had a period start of May and nothing since. This is currently CD 52, I’ve been using OPKs (cheap ones!) daily since AF finished just to try and get an overall picture. It appears that I haven’t ovulated at all, I do them same time every day. Today’s was same as usual but this evening I had ‘wet’ CM (sorry if that’s TMI) and I did another OPK and it’s definitely darker than any others.

Is it possible I could have a really long cycle and now be ovulating or about to?!

I was on the pill for 7 years and had irregular cycles before that so have never really thought about it!

Thanks and sorry if this is a stupid question and wishful thinking! :)

Hi @Eppy123 I hope someone comes along who can answer for you.

I'm in a similar situation. Almost CD60 for me and according to opk's and temps I've not ovulated yet either! I normally have regular cycles tho so no idea what's going on at the moment. Not sure what to expect first now, ovulation or a breakthrough bleed because of an anovulatory cycle 🤷🏼‍♀️. I'm pretty sure you can ovulate very late tho if you've not had a period yet to restart your cycle.

Sorry I can't help more but you're not alone in the midst of a verrry long cycle

I had a late one on CD67. (Confirmed by temping)

If you often have long a d irregular cycles have a look into Agnus Castus. I managed to get mine to 32-34 days with it.

Have you tried checking earlier. My cycle is regular and I always ovulate at least 5 or so days before my expected ovulation date.

He @Eppy123 we are in a kind of similar situation as I came off the pill in April and having completely haywire cycles. I've just finished AF making this the start of my third cycle off the pill. I wasn't tracking my first cycle (which lasted 30 days) but I was using OPKs in my 2nd cycle as well as temping. During my second cycle I got three LH surges in total, starting on CD19, again about 5 days later, and finally a positive OPK on CD33! However I got AF 4 days later, so that would mean I had an extremely short luteal phase if I did ovulate. I think it is very possible to ovulate really late in your cycle while your body is trying to regulate. In order for the LH surge to happen oestrogen has to hit a threshold and so you won't ovulate until your oestrogen gets to the right levels and triggers the LH surge, and won't ovulate until LH reaches the right levels either.

After my 2nd cycle being such a mess I've been reading a lot online about how to naturally reset your hormones post pill. Let me know if this sounds of interest and I'll add some links to good articles. I'm following a lot of the advice and have cut out sugar and alcohol completely as well as white carbs, increased fibre intake, cut down caffeine to one green tea a day, getting 40 minutes of daily exercise and taking various supplements to replace the nutrients that the pill depletes xx
