Planning to start ttc - coil

Me and DH have decided that we would like to start ttc baby no.2. However I currently have the mirena coil. How long did others take to conceive after the coil?
Also, will GPs be offering apts for coil removal at the moment with all that's going on?

Hi!
I’m in a similar position except it’s an implant I need removing. I contacted my local gp but unfortunately they aren’t doing this procedure at the moment. I posted on here asking for advice and was advised by a couple of people to go private, if it’s an option. I had to phone a few private places but eventually found a private clinic that can do it at the end of the month. It will cost £139. I’m not sure how much a coil removal would cost, but just to give you an idea of the price. Some of the private clinics o contacted couldn’t remove it either because nhs are using their premises, but if you persevere you should find somewhere!

I have heard people on here being able to have coils removed on the nhs at this time. I think some of it depends on whereabouts you are, but it’s certainly difficult at the moment. If you have no luck with nhs my advice would be to get it done privately if your circumstances allow.
Good luck x

Thanks Beryl 😊 I'm gonna try contacting the GP on Monday and see what they say.
Best of luck to you!
