Help! False positive possible?

This is my 6th cycle of TTC and I'm 15dpo. AF due today. I did a clear blue early detection test yesterday morning and one this morning. Both quite faint bfps which got a bit darker when they dried. I've been having weird cramps all day a bit like AF is coming but also slightly different and my bbt was raised more than normal this morning. Anyway I am worried because the lines seem faint and I've heard you can get evaporation lines on blue dye tests! May be paranoid but I really don't want to get my hopes up especially as I've been cramping and having watery discharge all day. Does anyone have experience of faint lines being false positives? DH could see the lines as well but they were squinters!

I’ve only had one false positive on a blue dye test but it was a proper squinter. It was also a Tesco test which are apparently notorious for false positives. Are you able to get your hands on a pink dye test? They’re so much clearer! I wouldn’t worry too much about the line being so faint as you may have implanted late. Try again in a few days x

You can see how faint our first VVFBFP were here. You're more likely to get a false negative than a false positive... I'd leave it a couple of days and test again. If you test too frequently you risk picking up a chemical pregnancy. Also get a FRER if you can. They're the most accurate!

Thanks for responding! I did a pink die supermarket cheapie this morning and was a BFN so now I'm in a bit of a headspin! No AF yet but expecting her so show her face soon... :(

@Rosejulia88 sorry to hear that OP. How sensitive was the pink dye test? Maybe your hormones aren't high enough for it to detect them yet? Keeping my fingers crossed for you x

Rosejulia88 · 19/06/2020 16:06

Thanks for the crossed fingers! It was just a cheapo one so maybe not that sensitive? I've been having cramps all week now so a bit fed up if it is just AF taking its time. Have ordered some Frers online so will take one tomorrow if I haven't come on by then!

@Rosejulia88 a lot of people have said that their symptoms before BFP were very similar to AF so could still be good news! A lot of the ladies on here swear by the FRERs for clarity, let us know how you get on tomorrow x

@HansBanans Frers haven't arrived but did a clear blue digital this morning and BFP! Really pleased!
