@Gbaby001 I know it's frustrating but 5 months is totally normal. If you're over 35 I think the doc will see you after 6 months of TTC, but if you're under 35 it's 12 months. I didn't wait the 12 though, I went at after about 8 months and told them it had been 12 🙈 I just really felt like something was wrong (I have slightly longer and varying cycles).

If you don't want to wait that long for checks you could go private - I think it's something like £300 (I may be wrong). Or you could just lie like I did... maybe that's why I'm struggling - karma 🙈🙈

@Daffodil21, 😂😂😂😂 its perfectly alright, we do lie sometimes to help ourselves out. I'm in my early thirties though, not up to 35. But I really don't want to wait for long before consulting the specialists.

Daffodil21 · 21/06/2020 21:08

@Gbaby001 you won't get to speak to a specialist unless they pick something up in the your blood tests or your partner's sperm analysis, so fingers crossed you never have to speak to one!

@Daffodil21 @Gbaby001 I am 34 will be 35 in 2 months took me a year to be seen by obgyn. Been referred to a fertility specialist all new tests again. But COVID has put that back now so have to wait longer better to start sooner rather than later.

Dreaming101 · 21/06/2020 22:34

@acaciabluebell it may just be that you are ovulating later than you originally thought. Try not to panic. I ovulated around day 21 last cycle! Thought I’d share a photo of when I first started testing so you can see how light my tests were. How long are you leaving the test before reading it? You can leave them up to 7 minutes I think.

Congratulations to al who have had the BFP’s!! That’s an amazing Father’s Day present for your partners. Keep us posted on how you guys get on!

I’ve found today really hard being Father’s Day and being around family who all have little ones. My hubby and I are the only ones out of his siblings who don’t have children yet. I love being an aunty but really can’t wait for the day I can say we are expecting our own😞

Thanks so much @Dreaming101 for sending that screenshot, I thought mine were abnormal and started overthinking

Dreaming101 · 21/06/2020 23:15

@acaciabluebell that’s okay, it’s so easy for our minds to run away with things xx

ALew15 · 22/06/2020 07:51

@Daffodil21 you're not alone, I am a stepmother to my husbands two incredible boys (13&10) and Daddy got the full works yesterday. Felt a bit crappy inside because if our pregnancy has lasted then we would have a 4 week old baby by now. Then I push the idea out of my head and think maybe there's a reason it didn't work and also having a baby in the middle of this pandemic would be so stressful. I'm happy for it to happen after this has passed now.

ALew15 · 22/06/2020 07:58

CD12 and 7th day of flashing. Really hope I get a static soon. I know I started testing early but my period was really short and I couldn't believe it when it started flashing that soon. Been DTD every other day still, think DH is getting worn out. Had this been 5 years ago he would have been happy doing twice a day!

leftitlate37 · 22/06/2020 09:00

congrats @Rocky89 thats amazing news!! so exciting and and what a great day to tell your other half!!! to everyone else, happy Monday and lets hope this week is a good/positive one!

Daffodil21 · 22/06/2020 09:08

@ALew15 I think your message was meant for @Dreaming101 but it resonated with me too. I found yesterday much more difficult than anticipated, I don't have any young relatives around me (that must have been so hard @Dreaming101) just the endless posts on social media had me feeling sad and guilty that my DH still isn't a father. Like you, if the first pregnancy had been successful we would have had a 2 month old by now, or if the second one had then we would either have a new born or I'd be about to give birth. Have you ever had professional help dealing with your MC..? I hope you don't mind me asking - ignore the question if so!

The CB leaflet says if you see more than 9 high fertility days it is unlikely that you'll see a peak and then goes onto the say the attached picture. It doesn't necessarily mean you haven't ovulated, so I really hope you have, or are about to Daffodil

Still Os for me on OKP - even DH asked if I'd had a smiley yet yesterday! CD20 now which is a little late even for me...

Oh I'm sorry @Daffodil21 yes it was meant for @Dreaming101 😬 it's early and both your usernames started with D lol. I'm covering someone in work this morning and I was rushing! I've gotten used to so much time off work. Going to struggle getting back into my routine!

Last cycle I ovulated on day 12 and I'm only day 12 today, I'm just being impatient! I think I started testing too early, had I only started a couple of days ago then I wouldn't be feeling so frustrated! Hopefully it'll come in the next day or 2. I'll keep you updated!

Re:counselling for MMC, no I haven't had any. I'm pretty good at talking about things if they're bothering me and I have great friends and family who I can vent to. I have a negative thought and always try to put a positive spin on it. I'm a firm believer in that things happen for a reason x

SaraVB · 22/06/2020 10:05

@acaciabluebell Im starting to get a bit concerned too. My crappy OPKs are really faint and not really getting darker ( the last one was actually more faint than previous ones). I do have a long cycle so it could just be that it's too early for me but assumed it would gradually build up to a darker colour.

SaraVB · 22/06/2020 10:07

@ALew15 I'm getting impatient too as usual haha this weekend we have a trip to the beach planned with my OHs parents where we'll be staying in a flat together. Obv right in the middle of FW and on the predicted ovulation day hahah not too keen on having to DTD with them around 😂

acaciabluebell · 22/06/2020 10:13

@SaraVB Have you used OPKs before? This is my first month properly using them. Even the control line is weak which is odd, on HPTs the control line is normally quite dark. I wonder if I should get the Clear Blue digital, but I want to give these a proper shot first.

DH and I are dtd through my cycle anyway so if I do ovulate hopefully we can catch it. But I honestly just want the OPK to give me some reassurance that I'm ovulating, which for some reason I'm paranoid about

SaraVB · 22/06/2020 10:52

@acaciabluebell no first time using OPKs and honestly I bought really cheap ones so that might be the reason. I also tend to test quite late in the day after I get home from work.

I was also basically doing them for some reassurance that I'm ovulating and I don't feel very reassured!!

I'm also considering the CB digital but it's quite expensive and felt wasteful not using up what I had first. If it doesn't work out this month though I'll definitely switch to those.

Dreaming101 · 22/06/2020 11:06

@SaraVB @acaciabluebell

What brand are you using? Try the easy@home ones from amazon x

acaciabluebell · 22/06/2020 11:22

@Dreaming101 I got some really cheap ones off Amazon, I don't think they even have a brand. Let me see if I can attach a pic.

@SaraVB You and me are in the same boat then! I have like 50 of these OPKs I feel like I have to give them a real shot first!

TTC Thread #2
SaraVB · 22/06/2020 11:22

@Dreaming101 I was trying to avoid amazon as post from abroad has been a nightmare here in the last few months! Are they quite inexpensive?

SaraVB · 22/06/2020 11:25

@acaciabluebell I got the same ones as well! maybe they're just crap and we should give up and try some better ones.

Dreaming101 · 22/06/2020 11:58

@saravb @acaciabluebell

I am using the oranges ones at the moment as the others are unavailable. I use these until the line gets dark and then I confirm it with a clear blue x

Daffodil21 · 22/06/2020 11:59

@SaraVB @acaciabluebell I was told by my fertility doctor that only some home OPKs are good enough. He didnt give me a list of what are good, but he said that they use clear blues in the clinic, and he specifically noted on the letter to my GP that I use clear blue and get smiley faces typically on x days

OP posts:
SaraVB · 22/06/2020 14:17

Thanks @Dreaming101 I'll try to find some that will ship here and I think I'll just order the clear blue ones as well.

ALew15 · 22/06/2020 14:18

@acaciabluebell @SaraVB I was the same, was using the CB OPKs just to confirm if I was actually ovulating as for some paranoid reason I believed I wasn't. No reason why! I bought the cheapy online OPKs and they made my paranoia worse. Push the boat out and get the CB. We have also been DTD every other day so if I do ovulate and for some reason it doesn't show I know we've done all we can.
@SaraVB it'll be like sneaking around hoping your parents don't hear you 😂 hope you don't have a squeaky bed!

SaraVB · 22/06/2020 14:25

@ALew15 yes you're right I'll get the CB. Do the kits that you normally buy only have 10 tests?

We're also trying to DTD every other day but have to admit that sometimes I'm as pushy at the very beginning and end of my cycle.

Dreading the sneaking around part.. if they hear anything i will be moritified! As if DTD on a schedule wasn't challenging enough haha
