I'm surprised @Dreaming101 all those lines look super dark to me! Is that how it should be? The few times I used an OPK (roughly 5-6 days before my expected ovulation date) the line was so faint I could barely see it. Haven't used it properly yet though

Summertime1992 · 18/06/2020 20:42

Gosh this thread is moving fast, welcome to everyone new :) and good luck for this month of TTC.

@Hopeful1712 Hi just to put your mind at ease I also have a tilted cervix, it does not have any effect on fertility from my research. I am currently pregnant after one month TTC so definitely did not effect me. Hopefully it will be nice and quick for you, just bare in mind depo provera injections can stay in your system for a while with them being deep IM injections.

Hope everyone is keeping well.

Update from me; I have decided pregnancy so far does not like me, as I have had a UTI/ possible thrush (currently on abx) and I now have really bad piles from increased blood flow and constipation, but very grateful at the same time (not for the piles though they can definitely do one!).

Hopeful1712 · 18/06/2020 20:51

@summertime1992 thank you, i’ve read that too, but a very unhelpful friend made a comment about it and I just can’t shake it off!
Do you know how long the depo takes to get out of systems? I’ve read some really conflicting stuff. I’m trying to just be quite laid back about it, but them can’t stop myself researching different things!

Congratulations on your news. Fab news that it happened so fast for you. Side effects not ideal, but hopefully it will all be worth it. Cx

Dreaming101 · 18/06/2020 22:42

@acaciabluebell yes sweet, they should be getting darker in the build up to ovulation and then they will get lighter again. I test throughout my entire cycle as I don’t know where I am with it at the moment especially not having AF arrive for two months. What brand are you using? You may need to leave the test a little longer before reading it if they aren’t getting dark xx

Dreaming101 · 18/06/2020 22:50

@acaciabluebell I forgot to ask.. what time are you testing? I would recommend early -mid afternoon and try and do it around the same time each day where possible! LH builds up throughout the day.

@Summertime1992 were you on any form of contraception before you started TTC?

@Hopeful1712 welcome to the thread and the TTC journey! I was on the pill so can’t say about the injection for sure but my sister in law was told anywhere between 3-18 months is the usual for any form of Hormonal contraception to leave the body is normal.

Mrskcam · 18/06/2020 23:43

Feeling a bit more chill this evening after coming across some texts from when I found out I was pregnant last year and in them I said I had no symptoms and I only tested because I was late ... makes me a bit hopeful again as I was worrying as have no symptoms currently. Will be testing Sunday at 13dpo

SVC11 · 19/06/2020 07:21

Ahhh af turned up v v early for me. Only 9 days after my lh surge but exactly 4 weeks after stopping the pill. Are my hormones still sorting themselves out or does this mean I have a short luteal phase? Any ideas welcome xx

Bam27 · 19/06/2020 07:47

@SVC11 If you only stopped the pill 4 weeks ago then I definitely wouldn't worry about it yet. Its probably just your hormones trying to sort themselves out, like you said. I'm no expert but I would expect it to take a few months for everything to regulate.

Dreaming101 · 19/06/2020 09:33

@SVC11aw if it’s only been 4 weeks I wouldn’t worry too much. I’ve been off mine since March and am still all over the place😞

Poppyismyfavourite · 19/06/2020 11:54

@Hopeful1712 I've read that about depo too - i was on it for a couple of years then about 2 years ago switched to the progesterone-only pill.

I'm feeling fine tbh, although my boss reminded me yesterday again about the conference in January! Just checked and I'll be 37 weeks (touch wood). So I don't think i can go realistically. It's still too early to tell him though, so thinking i might just say I'd prefer to attend virtually (thank you covid for that at least). It's in a city/country I've been hundreds of times so hopefully he'll accept that.

Summertime1992 · 19/06/2020 15:45

@Hopeful1712 It varies, it can come out of your system within a couple of month or it could take longer unfortunately, hopefully it wont be too long for you, but its more to say don't get discouraged if it takes a little while.

@Dreaming101 Hi no I had an implant removed over 12 month ago ( I had bad symptoms with it, and knew I want to start a family this year) prior to conceiving we where just using condoms.

@SVC11 hopefully your body is just getting back into gear and getting the hormones out of your system.

@Poppyismyfavourite I sort of wanted to tell my boss but its too early, my co worker who does the same job as me is cutting her hours in the summer for retirement and the partners are thinking of just not replacing the hours and hoping I'll pick them up and knowing am pregnant I think they would see sense and replace her hours ( and soon as its hard to recruit someone with the right skills).

SaraVB · 19/06/2020 17:29

@Dreaming101 I installed that app you told me about to record opks and input all the data. Been finding it really helpful so far!

@Summertime1992 If they hired someone in a few months, would they need a lot of time for training? You'd probably still be at work for about 6 months after letting them know that you were pregnant... still it's really nice that you cared enough to think to let them know.

Dreaming101 · 19/06/2020 18:36

@Summertime1992 aw that makes sense, I’m already thinking that once we have a baby (hopefully) I won’t go back on birth control. I really underestimated how much it plays with your body!

@SaraVB
ah amazing! It’s my fave app now

Xx

Dreaming101 · 19/06/2020 22:18

@SaraVB thought I’d post a picture of today’s OPK test for you so you can see it getting lighter for when you’re testing and using the app . Looks like yesterday will be my peak this month so should ovulate today/tomorrow xxx

Hi all I hope it's ok to join I have PCOS and TTC my first at 34 .

Dreaming101 · 19/06/2020 23:51

@hampshirerose34 welcome lovely xxx

hampshirerose34 · 20/06/2020 07:19

@Dreaming101 thank you.
I ovulated last Sunday DTD and have felt sick ever since with a vibrating feeling down . I have just been working up by a bad cramp head ache and feeling really sick AF isn't due yet I normally have a longer cycle 35 -40 days not sure what is going on but it's getting on my nerves did a test and negative sell it would be it's to early to tell.

Could be the metformin playing tricks with me but I have been taking that since March with mild side effects that cleared up quick.

ALew15 · 20/06/2020 08:23

CD10 here and 5th Day of flashing smileys. Predict I'll probably ovulate in the next day or two. Been DTD every other day since AF finished.
Tried the Preseed out last night- TMI warning- very slippery (we haven't used lube before) but I think it helped... contain everything better 😂 I didn't tell DH I was going to use it as I thought he might think I was being presumptuous, he prefers to be spontaneous.

ALew15 · 20/06/2020 08:24

And I've had a username change! (Previously AlisonLew15) thought I needed to be more incognito 😂

Daffodil21 · 20/06/2020 10:28

Morning ladies,

Came across this on MN and thought I'd post it here in case its of interest to anyone:

Pandemic affecting menstrual cycle ? www.mumsnet.com/Talk/coronavirus/3898675-Pandemic-affecting-menstrual-cycle

Hope everyone is well. Is anyone in the dreaded TWW? I'm not yet (thank fuck) so feeling reasonably calm about it all, but I expect that will soon change and the crazy person within will be released! Really going to try and keep her in this month though!!!

OP posts:
Dreaming101 · 20/06/2020 11:35

@hampshirerose34 ah welcome to the dreaded TWW of symptom spotting. I absolutely hate the waiting game. I was told on here that a test can pick up a positive result anytime for 8 DPO so you could get results soon🙊

Aw good thought @ALew15 on the name change, I’ve not told people (other then my sister in law) that we are TTC as I didn’t want the pressure so have been incognito some I joined MN a few weeks back!
Thanks for the tip on the preseed! I always worry about important things leaking (TMI sorry)

@Daffodil21 I’ve just commented on the link you shared (thank you) as reading through it seems a few people are missing periods because of underlying stress. I’m hoping that’s why I’ve missed 2 now! Although I don’t feel overly stressed about the pandemic there is definitely an uneasiness about it deep down

Xx

hampshirerose34 · 20/06/2020 15:38

@Dreaming101 I am doing my own head in to be honest. Think it's to early to tell I wonder if anyone else has had theses sort of symptoms so early ?

ALew15 · 20/06/2020 18:04

Ladies, a question. I've come to the end of my first box of CB OPKs, I've got a new box. Do I use the new digital reader or my old one?

Daffodil21 · 20/06/2020 18:24

@ALew15 I think you're supposed to use the old one as that will already 'know' your baseline levels. Then start using the new ones next cycle. That's what I do anyway - anyone else know differently?

OP posts:
ALew15 · 20/06/2020 18:45

@Daffodil21 thank you. that's what I was thinking, I didn't want it to think I was testing again for the first time.
